This was so far the best sushi we have had in Newfoundland. Of course, I can't compare it to the sushi I had in other countries, but for Canada, it was pretty good. And, the robot servers are soo cute! The ordering process was very easy and quick, thanks to the tablets.

The food is 10/10! We moved here recently for work, and wanted to check out a Japanese restaurant and couldn’t be more pleased. My partner loved the sushi (great portion sizes with the rolls!), and I had the fried Udon - We both could not have been happier! I look forward to going back!

Been eating Sushi Sashimi all over North America for four decades. This place with 4.7 stars didn't make any senses after eating here. Service was really good. Fish quality and variety were just ok with no creativity with sushi or sashimi. An average place for average tasting presentation freshness of sashimi sushi experience.

Wonderful experience! The sushi selection was huge and quite varied. I loved all the options and the quality and freshness was spot on. The cat robot was the real cherry on top! Definitely worth a visit!

Food is okay. However, it took them 36mins to deliver me my first order. Also, there is no sashimi, but it is still expensive. I would look for different place.

Being in St John’s, I looked up the best sushi places and unfortunately I was really disappointed by my recent experience at Sushi Island. I ordered a takeout order for pick up- which may have been part of it. But the sushi itself was not nearly as tender or tasty as I was expecting, the edamame were almost brown in colour and did not taste fresh. The people on site were lovely and clearly it’s a well liked and popular place. Undecided whether I’d try it again.

The all-you-can-eat sushi is a good idea because once you get started you want to order more! Everything we had there was delicious. Especially recommend the banana tempura for dessert :)
