After my brief experience this past Saturday, I am 99.99% sure that I will never be returning to this establishment nor would I recommend it! On Saturday evening I had dropped my wife and daughter off on Duckworth street to avail of the local Craig’s Cookie’s store. Of course there was no where to park in that area, so I just dropped them off and proceeded to drive down Duckworth Street. I then made the loop back up to Gower Street and came back down Ordnance Street figuring by the time I made the loop they would be ready. Of course they were not. So I decided to make the loop again. Before I got very far my wife called stating they were ready. Again I looked and again there was no where to pull in to wait so I decided to pull into the parking lot of this establishment to turn around. As I was pulling into there was a car backing out of a space, so I waiting for them to do so. As I was waiting a knock came at my driver side window. It was, I am assuming the manager or owner of the Vu. She very ignorantly told me that “this parking lot is for customers only”. I said that I was just turning around to pick up my wife and daughter back where I dropped them off. By this time my wife had seen me pull into this lot so them walked down to meet me. I turned around to leave and was given the “death stare” as I was leaving. Also one of their workers was placing a rope across the parking lot entrance and had it half pulled up wanting me to cross it. I wouldn’t, I made her lower it so it would not hook in my truck. So I would like to know, how did this person know that I was not a customer? I very could have been! Was it because I was driving a truck and not a BMW or Mercedes or didn’t look like I had a six figure salary? Or was it that I wasn’t dressed in a shirt and tie, I had on a T shirt and hat, so I probably did not meet their entrance requirements to dine there? Which is what ever the hell it is! Either way I was very insulted by her actions and I am pretty confident that I will never be dinning there and I will not be recommending this establishment to any of my vast high end circle of friends who would typically dine in such an establishment. If their customer service is anything like their management then this establishment will not last very long in my opinion. 0 stars out of 5
Had fish and chips there tonight. Fish was obviously frozen and was dry while the chips tasted as if they had been reheated. Have had much better fish and chips at Ches’s and in St.Phillips. Service was also slow. The view was fabulous.
Great service, great food and a great view. Thoroughly enjoyed our evening.
Very nice restaurant. The food was next level delicious The menu is creative with a variety of options. I tried one of the signature drinks also excellent. Janet and Rod served our table and both provided wonderful and attentive service. The restaurant has a pleasant ambience. I would recommend to others!

We had a rotten experience here on Oct 12, 2024. The only good thing about it was the cocktails. We waited 70 minutes for fish and chips, the server rushed us when we were trying to order, we felt she was dismissive and rude. She forgot to bring back our drink menu when we asked. My appetizer was burnt, and I couldn't even find her to flag her down to tell her. The fish was great, but the fries were cold. Two other tables were waiting a inordinately long time as well, while one table that came in after us was eating their meals well before us. A nice atmosphere, decor-wise, but otherwise not worth the cost, and we will not be returning.

Our experience overall was good bc we're chose to make it good. The view was amazing. There were several items on the menu unavailable: salmon, cauliflower bowl, lamb stew, no egg whites to make whiskey sour etc... I really wanted the cauliflower bowl. I don't eat bacon and everything else on the menu had bacon. I did request less salt for the lettuce wraps and they did that perfectly :) Food overall was quite tasty!
The atmosphere was ok. Covid barriers are still up which is a downer.

The view at the restaurant was fantastic, and the service was really quick. However, the food was just okay for me—it tasted a little bland, but that could just be because I personally prefer stronger flavors. Overall, it was a good experience

I live in a different province so was excited to see my sister and nieces for an evening out starting with a wonderful meal.....it certainly didn't happen because it took 2 hours for our entries to be served.....nobody explained why and nobody took ownership especially our server.....some wine was provided but, sorry , not good enough. The cocktails were ok and the food was average. This is the second time in three years that I've been to Vu and I wasn't impressed the first time either....won't be returning and cannot recommend this restaurant.

Staff was great. Food was okay. My sister enjoyed her chowder and duck, I tasted both and found chowder good but the duck had a strange after taste. My lamb shank was fall off the bone tender but the sauce had zero depth of flavour, the flavour was more like a jar of crushed tomatoes.
