The service was slow. We preordered but still waited almost an hour for food. The food was warm not hot. I ordered the one-piece fish and chips. It did not come with malt vinegar or tartar sauce and our waiter seemed like he was doing a million things so I did not feel as if I could ask. The prices were good, and the view was specular. I would not return due to the service and food was ok at best. Presentation was beautiful.
An incredible restaurant.
I will always speak fondly of this place. My partner and I tried out the spot for a quiet, minor celebration when we were dating. I recall the good food and drink, cozy atmosphere and great conversation. With the gorgeous harbour view as backdrop I knew I was going to marry her--and she later said yes ;). It was one of the fondest moments of my life, and in no small part to how remarkable this restaurant is.
I would be hard pressed to name a better restaurant for the quality of food. I’ve been a few times now and the bone-in pork chop remains an incredible dish with hefty portions.
The service is also spot on and accommodating. I got to chatting with them about alcohol and it turns out they have an extensive gin collection! I tried all sorts of new gin flavours that night.
The atmosphere is very relaxed and upscale. It is easy to fall into conversation with those at your table. The tables are also not crowded, which is a huge pet peeve of mine. Despite being a long rectangular room it is cozy and welcoming and offers what has become my favourite view of the harbour.
Price was the location is also excellent. While I am no industry expert, as a consumer I would say they could actually charge a little more for the level of service and quality you receive.
An excellent restaurant--we will be sure to be back.

Went here yesterday with a friend and had a great experience! I ordered the fish and chips — the batter was so light, and the fish was super fresh and tasty. My friend had the fish cakes (the special of the day) with fries and loved them, especially the mustard pickle sauce on the bottom. Our waitress was really friendly and attentive. We were in and out within an hour but never felt rushed. Overall, delicious food and great service!

I was there eating with my fiancee, the food was great but the server was not she was an older woman and claimed to be the manager. She was very slow getting to the table and two other helpers came to give us a bill and takeout containers. So I decided to give her no tip considering other people did her job. She then said to me “ why didn’t you give a tip what was wrong with the service” and scolded me saying “it costs money from me to serve you”

Server was friendly but took our order for a table of four and then had to come back and confirm two of them. Brought another drink but brought something different. The food was okay though the mussels flavour was not. Lamb shank and seafood chowder were okay. View was nice.

Forgot my meal and by the time they served it everyone else at the table was done eating without any compensation outside of a small, bad Caesar salad. Server’s made everything about themselves, taking away from my friend’s birthday. Would not recommend. Food was mediocre and extremely overpriced.

Food was ok but not great for an upscale restaurant. View was great. Not good decor or atmosphere. Speakers above or heads playing country music a little too loud. So so.

We were very impressed by the location and by the wait staff. This restaurant looks over St John’s bay
After my brief experience this past Saturday, I am 99.99% sure that I will never be returning to this establishment nor would I recommend it! On Saturday evening I had dropped my wife and daughter off on Duckworth street to avail of the local Craig’s Cookie’s store. Of course there was no where to park in that area, so I just dropped them off and proceeded to drive down Duckworth Street. I then made the loop back up to Gower Street and came back down Ordnance Street figuring by the time I made the loop they would be ready. Of course they were not. So I decided to make the loop again. Before I got very far my wife called stating they were ready. Again I looked and again there was no where to pull in to wait so I decided to pull into the parking lot of this establishment to turn around. As I was pulling into there was a car backing out of a space, so I waiting for them to do so. As I was waiting a knock came at my driver side window. It was, I am assuming the manager or owner of the Vu. She very ignorantly told me that “this parking lot is for customers only”. I said that I was just turning around to pick up my wife and daughter back where I dropped them off. By this time my wife had seen me pull into this lot so them walked down to meet me. I turned around to leave and was given the “death stare” as I was leaving. Also one of their workers was placing a rope across the parking lot entrance and had it half pulled up wanting me to cross it. I wouldn’t, I made her lower it so it would not hook in my truck. So I would like to know, how did this person know that I was not a customer? I very could have been! Was it because I was driving a truck and not a BMW or Mercedes or didn’t look like I had a six figure salary? Or was it that I wasn’t dressed in a shirt and tie, I had on a T shirt and hat, so I probably did not meet their entrance requirements to dine there? Which is what ever the hell it is! Either way I was very insulted by her actions and I am pretty confident that I will never be dinning there and I will not be recommending this establishment to any of my vast high end circle of friends who would typically dine in such an establishment. If their customer service is anything like their management then this establishment will not last very long in my opinion. 0 stars out of 5

Amazing view with convenient customer parking. This high-end restaurant offers stunning harbor views — almost every seat in the house has a great view. The dining environment is elegant and pleasant. We ordered burgers and the blackened smoked duck with duck risotto — everything was delicious and unique. They also serve local Iceberg beer.
Don't order steak here. Could not order less than medium. Service was slow for a planned large group.
Absolutely delicious. Wonderful service. Great views of the bay. We had the chowder, fish and chips, and prawn lettuce wraps. Everything was phenomenal!
Had fish and chips there tonight. Fish was obviously frozen and was dry while the chips tasted as if they had been reheated. Have had much better fish and chips at Ches’s and in St.Phillips. Service was also slow. The view was fabulous.
Exceptional food with an incredible view. Definitely try the mussels and the gnocchi.
