Very tasty dishes. And great, friendly service. A simple, but warm atmosphere.

The student menu is garbage. Tasted like week old chicken biriyani and the wrap was horrible as well. Selling stale old food in the name of student menu is not a good look for the restaurant.

The butter chicken is the best I’ve eaten in St. John’s and the portions were satisfying. Highly recommend!

I recently had their Karachi Chicken Biryani, and sadly it has to be the worst biryani I tasted in st. johns. What they are selling for around 20 bucks is just plain rice with some super dry chicken without any hint of spice. Totally dissapointed.

Delicious food and warm service! Zauq Kitchen in St. John’s has amazing flavors, generous portions, and a good vegetarian selection. Definitely worth trying.

Order= Tikka Wrap+ Tikka Biryani

The Biryani wasn't bad, given that most of the restaurants in St John's serve hideous biryani.

The Tikka Naan Wrap was awful. It looks like they coated the whole naan with some sweet sauce, just like one would coat pizza dough with marinara sauce. It was more a chicken dish wrap rather than a chicken BBQ wrap. Discarded

Customer service is very bad.

I thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Zauq! The desi community has been unkind to these people for no reason. We loved the tikka biryani! It was so flavourful and the portion was huge. The Naan was amazing! I have no had such fresh soft naan anywhere else. The mango lassi was spectacular.

I just got to know from the person who works there that Belal bhai doesn’t own the shop anymore. It’s changed to another management about 3-4 weeks back. And the food doesn’t taste the same as before. And I was told that it’s a mix of Bengali, Pakistani and Indian food. Me and my brother visited this restaurant and we ordered Karachi chicken biryani and lamb karahi with roghni naan. The biryani wasn’t even hot as it should be rather it was cold. It didn’t taste good at all. And coming to the lamb karahi, the pieces were really chewy and not soft. And the person who was serving our food and giving out our plates was literally putting their fingers in our plates. Sorry but the water we were served came in transparent glass so I could see some particles in the water and it tasted like “fridge smelling water”. Water straight from tap would have been best at least. Anyways, never going to visit this store again. When Belal bhai used to own the restaurant, the food was amazing. I USED to love Belal’s Zauq Kitchen.

Zauq has lost it’s authenticity under the new management. Gave two stars because of the biriyani other than that everything else tasted below average. Biriyani was okay but not visiting there again.
