Annapurna's World Vegetarian Cafe

Tables were sticky and every single high chair they had had broken straps. We ordered 3 meals, but staff came to our table about 5 minutes after we ordered saying they couldn’t make one of the meals so we replaced it with something else. Also tried to order alcohol but they said they couldn’t sell it despite alcohol menus being placed on every table (I think all of the staff working was maybe too young?). Food arrived very quickly. The Indian sampler platter was great, but all of the other food (chili fries and pad Thai) missed the mark for us. Pad Thai tasted really fishy, i would have assumed it had fish sauce if it wasn’t a vegetarian restaurant.

I’ve been to Annapurna on fourth Street a couple of times recently. The best thing I had was the plant based latte. but honestly, the food doesn’t taste fresh. The bakery cases are basically empty and what I’ve had from there is not fresh or innovative. Annapurna that bakery case should be brimming with gorgeous vegan delights. It’s a truly missed opportunity. No wonder the place is basically empty. I want to feel the vibe. I want to feel like I’m in a wonderful special cared for place but every time everytime I’ve been in there the cleanliness is a problem. I want to love this restaurant so much. I want to give it my business, but I don’t feel comfortable with sticky tables, very little genuine service, and dal soup that tasted like it was way too many days old. In fact, I felt unwell after I left there the last time. I wish it weren’t the case- please step up to the plate Annapurna! You have multiple locations in and around Albuquerque and Santa Fe. You can be a flagship vegan vegetarian restaurant! Please get your act together! Show you care! Updated from previous review on 2025-04-20

I love so much here. My go to is the ABLT and the masala fries are killer. I hadn't been here for a bit minute and I feel some of the changes. Not necessarily bad, but different. Sign up for rewards points here if you come often. Excellent vegan and vegetarian options. Experience so many different flavors here for ayurvedic healing.

I'm a meat eater but I love this place. It's a unique gem in ABQ (and Santa Fe). If I'm having stomach trouble I come here for kitchari. I have to keep myself from getting too many oat-chai refills when I'm dining in. Such good chai. Other drinks I've had are good too. I'm glad there's multiple locations. I hope this chain lasts a long time and never changes their quality. I want to take their cooking classes some day. I recommend the fries (extra crispy) with caper ranch dipping sauce. And definitely get an extra sauce.

I am so happy that this location is here! The food was delicious and the restaurant is very nicely done. Unfortunately there was only one person working the front and she was trying to keep up with the crowd.

I had a deeply disappointing experience. I was charged twice for my meal and had to wait several days for a refund. They refunded the entire order, requiring me to pay again. The hostess was rude when I requested extra sauces and forgot to bring out part of our order. Overall, the service was poor, and I don't recommend this place.

What a great restaurant! This was our first time visiting and it was delicious. There were four of us and we all tried something different: the portobello burger and marsala fries with a homemade bun, the gluten free eggplant wrap with the spicier lentil soup, the beet salad, and the South Indian sample platter. Everything was fresh, reasonably priced, the staff was friendly, and plenty of parking. We were all very happy with our meals even the 2 meat eaters in the group. We all recommend the food and will definitely go back again.
