the guy who cooked in front of us was not the best
1. he asked how i liked the meat ?i said cooked all the way for my niece..i guess i didn’t know the right terms
he said “ i didn’t mean that i meant well done, medium rare etc”
… continued to cook, there was no interaction or any entertainment like not even a volcano oil fire like they usually do
( i took my niece for an experience and it wasnt really one)
my niece dropped her chop sticks so i asked for another knowing they were right behind him..instead of grabbing them even though he was right next to them he yelled “waiter!” as if it wasn’t his job and a inconvenience
but the waitress was great
still tipped 30^

This is one of our favorite restaurants. Mike and the other cooks at the grills are always fun and the food is always amazing. We have had fantastic food both at the grill side and private dining. The grill is a family favorite, especially for the teenagers, because we always get so much food. The leftover rice is great the next morning with a scrambled egg.

Ur greeted upon arrival then seated at a table. The staff & service is great. Some of the cooks have a better presentation than others. But all in all the food, presentation, atmosphere & prices r worth the trip. NJOY!

My wife and I had a deeply disappointing and unsettling experience at the Wyoming Blvd location of Asian Sushi. When we first walked in, we politely greeted the older hostess at the front and asked for a table. Instead of being welcomed like the other customers we saw already seated and eating, we were told flatly that their systems were down and they could not serve us. This was confusing because it was very clear that other guests were being attended to without issue.

To see if this was truly the case, my wife stepped outside and called the restaurant just minutes later. The very same individual who turned us away in person answered the phone, and without hesitation, took her order for two rolls, telling her they would be ready in 20 minutes. This showed us that there was no genuine system issue — rather, we were deliberately denied service.

Unfortunately, this interaction left us with the clear impression that we were being discriminated against. Experiencing this kind of treatment in 2025 is disheartening, especially in a city that should embrace diversity and inclusion. Dining out should be about good food and hospitality, not about being judged or excluded because of who you are.

We want to share our story so others are aware of how customers may be treated here, and in hopes that the restaurant takes this seriously, reflects on how unacceptable this behavior is, and makes real changes to prevent such discrimination from happening again.

Of all the teppan style restaurants, this far exceeds even it's San Mateo location. The host is kind and accommodating, servers are attentive, and sushi chefs are on point! Of course the grill masters performance is the star and it's never the same routine. Some offer kiddos roasted marshmallows, others create spectacular treats for birthdays. The salmon is a fave and don't skip the shrimp tempura appetizer or sushi roll, everything is reasonably priced and portions are very generous!

Also, they have private dining areas with very cool seating which is next on our list.

Azuma has always been one of my favorite places to eat. I had a couple of bad days and came to get some comfort food tonight. Brenda was our server and she was seriously amazing. She made the experience even more beautiful. The food was amazing as always, but Brenda made the experience even more special. Thank you guys for making life a little brighter!
