Stopped in for dinner Sunday night after my friend raved about the mac n cheese, it was around 6 pm my son order a Po’boy sandwich ,fries and I order deep fried ribs something I’ve never tried with Mac n cheese as a side plus fried pickles,.
Well the food came out and before I could start to dig in to my surprise a roach was casual walking on the table, I yelped wait staff came over a collect the unwanted guest, moved us tables and charged me only for the fires. I didn’t eat my food as I was grossed out by the experience I did taste the Mac and cheese and it wasn’t anything my friend had rave about, very dried out. Wish this could have been a better review as I’ve eaten here a few times before, chicken in waffles mainly were delicious, sadly I don’t think I’ll be back.

1/29/26 Update. Service was great. But when my meal came out, the metal tray the food was sitting in and the rice bowl both smelled like mop water. I let the waitress know and she went back and probably gave the dish washer a good ribbing. I still ate the catfish as it was sitting on paper. It was still delicious. I didn't eat the rice. No one else at my table had this problem. They did acknowledge that my tray smelled bad. The waitress said she made everyone in the back smell it and they all agreed. Good on her. Thanks!

Others love the chicken and waffles, but for me the Shrimp Po-Boy is one of the two best sandwiches you can get in Albuquerque. And the coleslaw is great. I love the music, too.

This places really yummy. There is some employees that can sometimes be a little bit rude the wait is always crazy take up to 1hr

Visiting from out of town- our first time ever and it was the best decision! We ordered takeout and the service was still fantastic. Wonderful atmosphere. The cashier was so patient while we decided and so sweet! Thanks Frank’s, I see why you’re famous.

Came on New Year’s Day. Not a lot of options and thankfully Franks was open.

Ordered
- Temptation platter w chicken wings; yams; Mac and cheese; gravy. Mac and cheese was amazing w a hint of Gouda. Collard greens were great. We even drank the liquid.
- Added side of waffles. Super crispy w a nice hint of vanilla.
- Side of catfish filet was crispy, flakey and tender.

Place is filled with music memorabilia. And of course 90’s and 00’a R&B was playing. Our server Isaiah was amazing. Helped us with all the food. We are coming every time we are in Albuquerque!

I ordered my Christmas dinner from here. The wait was long, but that is how you know they make their food fresh. Best restaurant in Albuquerque in my humble opinion. The food is delicious! Highly recommend. :)
