Such an exceptional dining experience. The award winning chef visited with each table. He responded to our questions about the meaning of the name of the restaurant and impetus behind his culinary journey. It was a very special story about an exceptional chef. His staff were genuinely so engaging and helpful. We felt like they were invested in giving us a wonderful experience to celebrate my mother's 87th birthday.

attentive service; delicious food. Caesar salad prepared tableside was a highlight. Tenderloin medallions were divine.

The food was very good! It is Mexico style food with a variety of unique meat and fish dishes. I loved that the owner was present, and visited the tables, really nice.

It was our first experience at Herencia. Overall, very good experience. Prices were a bit inflated. They ran out of Lobster early in the evening. Alternate seafood combination, mostly some scallops a few shrimp and shredded crab for Lobster enchiladas. Same price. Great flavors in the plates we had, so we weren't dissatisfied. Around $60/person, but worth a NYE night out. What we expected for a celebratory meal. Will try to go back on a regular night.

Early evening dinner. Not very many people so service felt very personal and attentive. Mia was wonderful.

Every staff member we encountered had a genuine smile, it truly elevated the experience. That kind of warmth is rare and deeply appreciated. The restaurant itself is stunning and intentionally feminine. I loved how the space honors femininity without softening it or apologizing for it. The owner has a mural of his grandmother on one wall and his mother on the other, both woven into florals, which adds a deeply personal and meaningful layer to the design. The food was out of this world, and it's easy to see why they're so highly rated.

I learned of Herencia through the ABQ magazine where it was awarded the best new restaurant. Went there with friends visiting ABQ from NYC. It's great and is a restaurant that everyone should visit. The menu is varied and unique. All of our meal choices were loaded with flavor and well prepared. The service is excellent. Highly recommended!!

We arrived at 8:00 pm on a Friday night. We had made reservations and were super excited to go. When we arrived though they were going to close early because it was so slow. However, the waiter greeted us and talked to the kitchen staff and they decided to stay open and honor our reservation. The food was fresh and amazing. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly. We didn't feel rushed, even if they wanted to close early and had the best meal ever! Thank you!!!

This restaurant is a gem! The service was excellent and our server explained the key dishes on the menu. She was wonderful in describing her favorite featured dishes in concise detail. The restaurant owner came to the table to thank us for dining there. The food was truly amazing with the cod, the shrimp and the chicken prepared in a style featured in Mexico City. The mains were accompanied with flavorful rice and excellently cooked vegetables. Next time I want the table side Caesar Salad!!

What a fantastic dinner at Herencia in Albuquerque! This upscale Mexican spot wows with its elegant vibe—marble tables, soft lighting, and orchid garnishes—while honoring bold, fresh flavors from Chef Henrique Valdovinos' family recipes. We loved the Assorted Mini Tacos: tender short rib on corn tortillas with queso fresco, microgreens, grilled pineapple, pico de gallo, and salsas like tomatillo, habanero aioli, and mole. The Lobster Enchiladas were divine—succulent lobster in chipotle crema, paired with cilantro-lime rice and grilled veggies. The Camarones Al Ajillo featured juicy garlic shrimp over green rice, charred veggies, and mango-habanero sauce. Dessert was the silky Flan de Nuez, topped with whipped cream, berries, and caramel. Our server Eric was outstanding—attentive, insightful with menu tips, and made us feel special. Herencia is a must-visit for elevated Mexican cuisine in the Duke City. Five stars!

Excellent overall dining experience! Our first visit to Herencia, and we will be back. Chef Henrique stopped by our table to welcome us and share his culinary history. We enjoyed four entrees: Fruta del Bosque (salad), Costilla de Res (ribeye), Camarones al Ajillo (shrimp), and Pollo a las Brazas (chicken). The salad had fresh fruit, caramelized pecans, with a tasty mustard & strawberry vinaigrette dressing. Each of the other three entrees was accompanied by a generous side of sauteed fresh vegetables and their special poblano rice. The presentation was perfect, and each tasted excellent. Please take the time to visit this neighborhood gem and experience Chef Henrique's passion for his unique take on Mexican cuisine.
