I used to love this little spot. It had that perfect “humble” vibe—exposed brick, mismatched chairs, decent pour-over, and usually friendly baristas who remembered my order. For years I happily dropped $6–8 plus tips on lattes and pastries multiple times a week, no complaints. It was my go-to third place.
Then one morning I made what I thought was a light, offhand comment to the barista while she was making my drink. Nothing aggressive, nothing directed at her personally—just a dumb, sarcastic one-liner about how expensive everything had gotten lately (which, let’s be honest, it has). She didn’t laugh. I didn’t think much of it.
Today I got pulled out of coffee line by some blond haired barista man saying “no longer comfortable” serving me and asking me not to return. No conversation, no chance to apologize if it landed wrong, just a polite but firm ban. Apparently my words crossed a line for them.
So here’s the bottom line:
• You can pay premium prices here for years
• You can be a regular, tip well, clean up after yourself
• But if you say one thing—even mildly snarky—they’ll quietly decide you’re not welcome anymore
For a business that brands itself as “humble” and “community-focused,” the zero-tolerance, no-discussion approach to a single awkward comment feels surprisingly cold and corporate. Especially when the comment wasn’t directed at any individual in a harassing way.
I get that staff comfort matters. I also get that owners have the right to refuse service. But if “humble” means treating long-time paying customers like disposable problems the second they’re not perfectly agreeable… then the name is false advertising.
I won’t be back (obviously), and I can’t in good conscience recommend this place to anyone who values basic grace over perfection in small talk.
Sorry it ended this way. I really did like the coffee.
1/5 stars.

Really cute chill place. The latte was bomb! The barista was super nice he made a swan on my coffee 😁 which takes some serious skill. Good place to network it has a pretty big bulletin board where people post flyers.

Bagels are some of the best I've had. Dense, crispy, but still moist. Coffee is good and a fair price.

Barista on the road looking for good coffee- this place has it. Service was kind and oat milk cortado was steamed well. Sick little gem that’s an obvious product of care from the people+baristas behind it :)

One of my favorite spots in ABQ! Unpretentious and super friendly and cool staff. One of the first places to bring that coffee shop vibe to ABQ

Fave coffee shop in ABQ! Their coffee is consistently good--even their decaf, which is not always the case at other places. They also make a pretty great matcha latte!
