I pre ordered a dozen of Tamales for Christmas. I got home opened the bag they all smelt burnt and some were burnt. The smell was so over whelming that I had to close the bag. Sadly I spent 36$ for that and we didn't even eat it. I took it back after Christmas. They were closed for a few days that I just had to toss it.

Not sure why Google says it's open if it isn't. They should fix that..

I had high hopes for this place. Asked for a plain tamale. Not smothered. And that is exactly what I got. A smothered tamale. Given it was delicious. But not what I wanted. Will consider to try again when the owner Juani is not stressing and complaining about all the holiday orders, in Spanish, to a randomn person sitting in the kitchen. That is what made the experience horrible. You shouldn't complain, in any language, about your customers!

Even during the craziest Christmas season yet, Juani’s takes great care of us and puts their customers first! They have the best tamales in New Mexico and always try to find solutions if any problem arises vs other places where they just leave you hanging. Their heart is truly in it and for that (and the delicious food 😉) I will always choose them!

Woman came to ring us up with a mouth full of food, food on her cheek, not very friendly. Atmosphere was awkward and it was very dirty inside. There was a table that actually had about 6 prescription pill bottles in the corner. We left and didn’t order

Edited 12/25: I've eaten here many times and have been increasingly impressed with each subsequent visit. My last meal here was the absolute best, which means that this place has somehow improved during my multiple month absence. The owners are welcoming and make an honest effort to do their best for their patrons.

This is my favorite New Mexican restaurant in the city (the combination plate is my go-to specifically) and if my review happens to reach your eyes, I hope you'll give it a try.

I was in need of last minute catering to serve about 30 people for a military holiday party. Juani and her daughter were eager to work with me to include customizing a menu to ensure our vegetarian/vegan members were taken care of. Their prices were very reasonable and all the food was ready on time. The food was an absolute hit! Everything was so delicious and you could tell it was made with love. This is a local, family owned business with a desire to serve the community. Whether you are just looking for a delicious lunch or you need someone to cater your next event, Juani's should be your first call. The food and people are so authentic!

We recently found this place because we were trying to find something close to my house for Tamales and Pasole so we dont have to drive to the south valley. VERY Good Pasole and tamales were pretty good too (biggest ones Ive eaten).
My dad is usually very picky, being from Mexico but and he enjoyed this place very much.
We tried to go back twice about mid day in the last 2 weeks and nobody was there and it was cl9sed during their posted business hours with no signs saying anything. Hoping they haven't closed down.

Horrible customer service, the woman working the front is absolutely rude and unprofessional. She looks like she hates everything with that look on her face, miserable.I was going to order a large order of tamales and decided to leave because she was so unpleasant. I would not recommend to anyone.

First time trying Juani's, The atmosphere so comfy from the moment we walked in. Mother and daughter run business and they were the sweetest people you could meet! Their prices are really good and have tons of menu options, We got the Carne Asada tacos and the Carne Asada fries... Amazing food and generous portions. Also the Auga Fresca was so good! We will definitely be going back! Don't skip trying Jauni's, you won't regret it. 😊
