After living in Madrid for several years, I came home to New Mexico & learned of Little Madrid. I was so excited to learn there’s a local place for paella. However, my expectations were too high. Their paella was dry. Lacked flavor. Plus, I wasn’t asked if I wanted the aoli spread which I had to ask to have removed. I was told it’s how it’s served in Madrid. In all my time in Madrid, not once did I ever have paella with aoli. As for the Sangria it was over sweetened but at least it helped to wash down the dry paella. For the price, not worth it.

I’m writing this review specifically for the Spanish wine tasting dinner.

It was $120/person and included four courses, each with a paired wine. Chef Xavi was amazing. It was great company and fantastic food.

I rated the atmosphere a 4/5 because I do not enjoy being outside with the smoke from the grill blowing on me. Once home my hair and body reeked of smoke. It was also very windy and warm and the dinner took place outside.

The food is good but a touch expensive for small plates. I was very impressed with the paella.

I have been eyeing the palella dishes and tried them today. I was hoping for bursts of flavor but my taste buds were disappointed. I got two small containers… not worth $8 each imo. I won’t be coming back.

Sitting here at Little Madrid still as I write this as I’m still upset. When I ordered there were no other customers around. As we sat waiting, those who came after me were receiving their orders. After 15 mins I asked if my order was forgotten. He said they’re busy and thanked me for my patience. I continued to see others after me receive theirs. When he saw my look as he brought others their food, he finally asked me what was my order. He brought over part of my order without any apology or acknowledgment that it was forgotten. When the rest arrived, he brought only one fork for the two of us. When my husband asked for another he was told that two were given. After giving my husband a dirty look, he gave him a plastic fork instead.

Loved everything I ordered! The Don Juan sandwich is very generous in portion! The fries and artichokes are very flavorful! And the Sangria!!

We enjoyed everything about this place. Their Spanish sandwiches were flavorful and not dry. The portions are of good size and very filling. The service was great and friendly: the young lady at the counter was very pleasant and outgoing. They customized my fries for me, since I explained that I couldn't handle spicy ones.

It is on a pricier end of the spectrum but then again all restaurants at this food court are. It is a hipster-frequented area, after all LOL.

The calamari salad and the Garlic grilled picanha were perfectly made and perfectly seasoned. Every ingredient tasted fresh and paired well with everything else on the plate.

Myself and my 7 year old had to give your compliments to the chef on a perfectly cooked medium rare steak. Nothing else like this, the quality or the atmosphere in Albuquerque. This place is great.

We had the Don Juan bocadillo, the calamari salad, and best of all were the spicy fries that were to die for!! This took me back to my trip to Madrid for sure. Will be back!

The food looked good and I decided to give this place a chance and order the Picanha steak. There was no line so I placed an order quick.

My wife and I waited probably about 25 mins and decided I wanted go up and check on the order since it’s been awhile. I walked up to the same girl who took our order and asked her if the food might be ready. She looked at me like she’s never seen me before in her life lol. Confused she asked everyone if she’s seen my ticket and everyone said no.

She never put the ticket up. Which is wild because I was like the only customer within the hour. But I know she made a mistake and I don’t really think it’s on her.

I never see the owner there. There’s never anyone at the counter. I don’t know how you have a restaurant in one of the nicest areas of town and not be there day in and day out making sure there’s a line for food, growing your business, and making sure everything runs smoothly.

Rhe food was excellent, and you get generous portions for the price. The service was outstanding as well—Javier provided great recommendations and made the experience even better. Highly recommend!

The reviews saying it's not worth the price surprise me. Jamón is so expensive (over a thousand dollars for a leg) and the way it was shaved for the sandwich was absolutely perfect. I didn't know it came with fries so that was a nice surprise. The homemade sangria was seasonal tasting and fun. Javier was a delight and we will stop by again. It is also just a beautiful set-up. Overall, 5/5.
