My recent visit to this Italian restaurant was profoundly disappointing from start to finish. We made reservations in advance for my child’s birthday, expecting a pleasant and memorable experience. Instead, it turned into one of the worst dining experiences we’ve had.

The food was unacceptable—poorly prepared, lacking flavor, and honestly nasty. For the high prices they charge, the quality was shockingly low and felt like a complete waste of money.

The service made the situation even worse. Our waiter Sly was unprofessional, inattentive, and downright rude. Despite knowing it was a birthday dinner, she showed no courtesy, no effort, and made every request feel like a burden. It was incredibly disappointing and embarrassing.

With overpriced, substandard food and disrespectful, careless service, this restaurant completely ruined what should have been a special celebration.

Overall, we left extremely unhappy, and I strongly recommend avoiding this place entirely.

Great variety of starters to share with the table. Lots of options for vegetarians (can always add protein). Pasta and sauces were fresh. We look forward to coming back!

Absolutely horrible service, we got there at 7:00 pm waited until 8:30 and we did not get our food, they closed the kitchen and when we asked if food was almost ready they said they never took our order, all they said was sorry. So dissapointed.

My husband and I consider Piatanzi our neighborhood bar/restaurant. We eat there at least three times a week, and the food wine, and service never disappoint us. The bartenders and waiter/waitress go out of their way to make sure that everything is up to our expectations. The chef is really outstanding, and the menu has something for everyone . We have taken our grandchildren, and it their favorite restaurant in Albuquerque. If you have not tried Piatanzi, you are really missing a true gem in our community.

We showed up to a poorly handwritten sign that said the restaurant was closed.
Would've been nice if they'd made a note on their website...

I recommended this place for a family dinner as they wanted pizza and the pizza is great. We had a reservation but unbeknownst the pizza oven was broken and they knew about this 3 days prior to our reservation. They should of called us to tell us this. We showed up got the bad news but decided to stay to not inconvenience anyone. Then they had oil and hebs on the table and so we asked for the bread to go with it and was told they had no bread. Then why put the oil on the table. The service was not good considering all the things going wrong. They could of compt an appetizer or something and we got none of that. The other food we had was mediocre and not cheap. Was disappointed overall with the experience and I felt bad to my family cause I suggested it. If they would have called us to let us know the pizza oven wasn't working we could have pivoted to another spot and I would of appreciated it and have came back but right now I don't intend on visiting or recommending anytime soon.

My first time and it will be my last time. Food is very over priced. Right out the gate they were out of the appetizer we tried to order. The quality of the dishes we ordered was bland. She was dressed as if she was in her pj's. Had to flag down the server multiple times. They were not even that busy. We were there around 6-615 pm on Friday 3-21-25. Would definitely NOT recommend. If there was a bright point the food itself did give the appearance of being delicious but again sadly it was not.
We had a half Caesar salad-mediocre taste at best
Half arugula salad-was fairly ok
shrimp pesto scampi-tough over cooked shrimp. No flavor sauce
Lasagna bolognese-tasteless sauce couldn't tell if there was even any pork involved.

Food was great but unacceptable service due to the restaurant having a new person work half the restaurant on Valentines Day. We had to wait an hour to even get our drinks and bread. The Restaurant should’ve been more prepared.

For the price, the food was just okay. Nothing to write home about. There are other, much better places in town.
