The building has definitely seen a few decades... and thankfully, so have the recipes. Lucky Boy is a family-owned classic serving tasty Chinese favorites, solid burgers, and prices that feel like they're from another era. Cash only.

Not living in Albuquerque, we were unaware of this place until medical needs in the family has us repeatedly driving it each day. We saw the sign for malts and were immediately intrigued as it's hard to find a malt these days... Boy were we sleeping on this place ( no pun intended)!

Located in Albuquerque, Lucky Boy is a classic burger/Chinese joint that has been a local favorite for over 30 years. The food is good, super affordable, and nostalgic. Customers love the egg fu young cheeseburger (with green chile and cheese), which is described as a brilliant idea and delicious. The sweet and sour chicken is frequently praised as the best ever tasted, with perfectly sweetened sauce and huge, hot, freshly fried chicken pieces. The onion cakes and egg rolls are also great. The chocolate malts are very good, though some wished they were a little maltier. The service is always good, and the owners are incredibly kind, very welcoming, and friendly. They have not changed in 20 years. The prices have always been affordable, offering excellent food and a great value. Note that it is cash only. Unique items like stickers of the building are sold at the restaurant. Customers highly recommend this place and would definitely return.
