One of the better dining experiences I’ve had, and in such a small, remote village!
Heading up to Taos Ski Area is the small village of Arroyo Seco. This place is magical!
And in this very tiny village sits this lovely, sincere restaurant, Aceq.
They seem to pride themselves on wild caught, local, or farm specific…annd the staff each seem like owners!
We had a variety of offerings, including perfect cocktails, shareable plates, and entrees. The experience was near perfect.

I came in to ACEQ by myself, early for my reservation and luckily they were able to seat me right away in the main dining room. Note that the happy hour menu is only available in the bar.
All of the staff I interacted with were warm, polite and helpful. The drinks were perfect.
Overall the food was good, but there were a couple little details that made me decide on 4 stars, mostly because it's pricey and well regarded and the little things matter to me.
The elote corn ribs were cooked well but they needed salt, there wasn't enough cotija to make up for the unseasoned corn. And there are no salt shakers on the tables. The mole was great though.
So then I ordered the lamb small plate and the Butternut squash gnocchi. After a long while the server comes and says that they do not have the gnocchi tonight actually. So I get the Brussels sprouts instead. And it took a pretty long time for the food to come after that.
The lamb was tender and cooked properly in my opinion, seasoned nicely. But the pea puree that was piped on the plate was kinda crusty like it had been on there a while, it was okay. The pickled red onions were good but the only sign of chimichurri I could find was some big chunks of herb stems.
The Brussels sprouts were perfectly cooked, caramelized, crunchy. They had a good amount of cheese and pickled red onion, but there were like 4 marinated raisins and barley any almonds on them, which made me sad because the couple bites I got with all the elements were so good.
At this point I'd been there an hour and twenty minutes and I wanted dessert but I was anxious because it says on the menu not to stay longer than an hour and a half. I asked and they said I was fine, which is good because I just had a starter and a main and it wasn't really my fault I was there so long.
I ordered a creme brulee for desert and they knocked that out of the park. I thought the custard was the perfect texture, I loved the sweetness level and the vanilla flavor.
Overall I had a nice time and would go again if I lived in the area. Just a few little things.

They need to figure out how to keep food warm before it gets to the table. First order of fries was cold, I mentioned it and they replaced them with even colder ones. Not sure if they just sat a long time or what. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff.

We enjoyed another tasty meal tonight at ACEQ in the bar seating area - this time with a view of the hard working chefs and staff spinning their craft in the micro kitchen area, plating each dish, adding final sauces and engaging with each other and guests. We are lucky to have ACEQ as our neighborhood eatery.

Great, innovative yet comforty food and accomodating to my allergy. No wonder it was so highly recommended. Would 100% go back when I'm in the area again.
We went for Thanksgiving and had a traditional dinner, so I didn't try their normal menu. Food and drink were great. Friendly service.

We loved our appetizers and meals at Aceq. We shared the corn ribs and Cesar salad - both outstanding! We all had a serving of the Beef Bouriginon with a large piece of crusty, toasted bread - over the top good! We all highly recommend Aceq. Wait and other staff were friendly and very attentive. They had great recommendations that helped us in our selections. This made for a very special evening.
The food was amazing. We had the two choices for Thanksgiving. Excellent service and would definitely come back when we're in town.

Amazing in every way. We got braised rib small plate and duck special. The wine was the best we've had the entire trip to Taos. Highly recommend
Great reviews led me there, and Aceq lived up to them. A very creative chef! I appreciated some of the items -- ordered most of the small plates -- more than others, but still five stars for food because even if a dish didn't totally hit the mark it was very interesting. Nothing here is something you've had before, which says it all!
Food was exquisite!
The truffle fries and lions mane mushroom cakes: phenomenal.
Beef Bourguignon and the Schweinerbraten were the entrees, and I'm so glad I got to share between everything!
Brad and the staff were amazing...haven't been in a year and I'm definitely coming back sooner than a year this time.
Schweinerbraten was my favorite!
