“Amazing food and food presentation, we love Aceq! The Brussels sprouts are my favorite and I am so glad they will be continuing in the new May menu! Keep up the great work. See you again soon!”
“Only place in Taos area that I have found for authentic New Mexican food. Every other place in town that I have tried for New Mexican food just disappoints. Love Abe’s!”
“Taos cakes helped us last minute and the cake was beautiful and super yummy. I would definitely recommend and if I’m ever in the area again and need a cake she will be my call l!”
“Been coming here for two years in a row now and their breakfast burritos don't miss 11/10. I always pick one up on the way to the mountain and eat it after parking and suiting up!Parking: Lots of space -- easier to back in to help with pulling out while cars are coming around the blind turn.Kid-friendliness: Nice seating in the back, behind the store along the creek.”
“I have never had anything to eat or drink that was not state of the art. The service is impeccable and wonderful. The only thing I wish they could fix would be more parking area but seeing the location of the restaurant, I can understand this dilemma. I love going here and would always recommend it to others”
“This is very, very special chocolate. We even returned a second time--may have returned more if we weren't headed home after that. The sipping chocolate is heavenly. I saw one review that complained that their cup wasn't full--I don't know about their experience. In my two experiences they were full up. And for the size, keep in mind that this is sipping chocolate, not hot cocoa which has water in it. So instead of thinking of the size comparing it to hot cocoa, think of chocolate in liquid form, as that is much closer to what sipping chocolate is.We got the vegan chocolate cake per recommendations. It was a bit dry for us, but still tasty. Happily we also ordered the coffee mouse, which is really rich, with we ate together with the cake, balancing both.Lastly, the truffles are phenomenal. Had to go back for more.In summary, so so so good”
“Wish I could give more stars. They got us in on a Saturday night without a reservation and gave us an amazing table. Our server was wonderful and our food was beyond delicious. Their fillet and butter poached lobster tails are out of this world. The entire experience was so perfect that we made a reservation for the next night and ate there again only to have an even better experience because we tried more menu items. Romaine salad was like a much tastier Caesar and the seafood spaghetti is also a huge yes. This place is a MUST visit when in Taos, so call in advance to ensure you get a table!”
“Very very yum, cozy, lively place. We were just staying in Taos a couple nights. We chose this spot based on Google reviews, and we wanted New Mexican food. We still didn’t know Orlando’s was such an institution - there was a line! Luckily we arrived right ahead of their 5pm opening and even though we were a bit down the line we were seated in the first wave. They have a nice, large gravel patio with a fire and chairs for waiting, and the crowd was a fun bunch so it would be the fun kind of wait. 10/10 highly recommend.”
“I can’t say enough wonderful things about our stay here! Clean newly remodeled rooms with all the added touches! Great expresso bar in the lobby! Nick was excellent and extremely helpful with suggestions for dinner!! Would definitely come back to stay again! Loved our time here! Thank you”
“Just received a delivery from Aly. Right on time and everything was hot and packaged securely. CANNOT GO WRONG with the Gyros and the CHIPOTLE PIE... SO DELICIOUS! Fish and Chips with the dipping sauce were AMAZING as well! My co-workers and I agreed this will be a weekly occurrence and we are already planning what to get next! WELL DONE ALY!”
“Meal was wonderful. I forget what it was called though. Here is a picture. They are on the second floor and it is confusing how to enter, especially if the other downstairs restaurant is closed. Facing the building, go to the left end of building. There is a double glass door into a dark alcove that looks like an entrance to a closed restaurant. Try the doors. If they are unlocked take steps to the left to enter.”
“Delicious and gluten-free rellenos! Great food in a fun, kinda quirky restaurant environment. So many GF options on the menu. Plenty of traditional options as well as some more unique ones. The ingredients are fresh and well prepared. Great service and food make this a keeper.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free. Wheat free.”
“This is hands down our favorite restaurant in Taos. After dozens of trips down here we have been lucky to eat at many restaurants here. Every dinner we have had at Aji is melt in your mouth good. We have had the soups, ceviches, salads, empanadas, yuca fries, trout, salmon, duck, and desserts. We have loved everything!! Also the cocktails are incredible our go to is the pisco sour and old fashion. The space is cozy and welcoming. Thank for you for the most unforgettable meals! We will be back on our next trip! ❤️Dietary restrictions: Almost the entire menu has gluten free options”
“I ordered 6 strawberry cup cakes for a birthday celebration. The cakes were dense and delicious. The strawberry buttercream icing was so rich. The strawberry center in the cakes blended so nicely. Holly was so kind, patient, and helpful. Great value! Great taste!”
“Drip coffee tastes watered down. It’s not very diluted but it doesn’t seem strong. Place is pretty dark without a lot of natural light in the morning, but plenty outdoor seating. Decor is cute. People come here for a light breakfast/lunch.”
“Clark and his team are all so extremely nice. My new favorite drink as of this morning is the beet, berry w/yogurt and protein. I'm definitely making Taos Java my weekly stop. thank you T.J. for being here for all of us lucky coffee peeps.”
“Delicious breakfast! Had the breakfast burrito smothered in green chile, and it hit the spot! So filling, did not have to eat again until dinner. Excellent place, with fast, friendly service.”
“We've eaten there three times now and the food was SO GOOD. Even the Fried Chicken Salad was really good, but I definitely see why people say they have the best burger in town. I haven't found a better one.”
“Der Garten deserves a minimum of Michelin Bib Gourmand. The innovation that Chef Asia uses in seemingly traditional cultural dishes or a simple burrata salad is second to few starred restaurants I've been to. We went two nights in a row and got to sample most of the carefully crafted menu and specials. Fittingly, the menu offerings primarily belong to Europe and Bavaria, but also included things like a masterful Dahl showing prowess in all types of cooking. The ambiance is also incredibly unique, the restaurant being in a converted residential house. Our second meal there we ate on suede armchairs and coffee table in front of a huge, roaring fireplace. And thats what it feels like, eating at home. But what I loved most about the place was Chef Asia personally bringing all of her food out to us, describing the details of each dish. As an aspiring chef myself, she even sat down with us and we talked about the technique and theory behind all of her dishes - super meaningful and a memory I’ll never forget. She is truly talented and proud of what she brings to every table - and should be!This is the best restaurant in northern New Mexico, and you'd have to work to find a place this good in Santa Fe or ABQ.They also serve draft German beer by the liter… a reason to go by itself!”
“Great craft cocktails (which change seasonally), locally made spirits, cozy atmosphere, live music on many nights - what else do you need?Vegetarian options: Any food item on their menu can be veggie - just have them leave the meat off of the cheese platter. They also have spiced nuts, olives, and breadsticks.Parking: There’s parking around the corner on Bent Street, on the Plaza, and in the John Dunn Shops parking lot. Metered but free after 5 pm.Kid-friendliness: People do bring kids, but it’s a cocktail bar atmosphere. Outside is better.Wheelchair accessibility: Difficult. The entire Taos historic district is tough on anyone with mobility issues. Sidewalks are narrow and in bad repair, and curbs don’t have wheelchair ramps. Once you get into the lounge, however, it’s all on one level.”
“Absolutely incredible. Every aspect of this operation is dialed and intentional. I cant remember being so impressed or satisfied at a food establishment in recent memory. Staff were very knowledgeable and helpful with menu and wine. I will definitely be back. Wine selection is the best you will find within a few state region. ? all around, thanks for having us ?”
“When we were vacationing in Taos, we tried 4 different restaurants and they were all closed. It was a late lunch at 3pm and they were open and we were starving. Great food, nice staff and clean restaurant. Thank you.”
“When I was stationed up in Tres Piedras May-August 2021 for Forest Service, this was my absolute favorite haunt in town. My main barista was named Mary and we became fast friends because she was so personable, helpful, hilarious, always eager to serve, and wonderful to just talk to. She left soon after my seasonal position ended, but all other baristas are equally kind and dedicated to pleasant experiences. They make fantastic drinks, carry amazing treats, and have the coolest atmosphere of local art covering the walls and always rotating. The owner has land that he uses the coffee grounds to help the soil and several art pieces in the place have coffee grounds saved by the owner, used by local artists. He has an eco-friendly focus, and the place also uses straws made from natural materials (the best ones were bamboo). Dog friendly (met several dog friends), indoor and outdoor seating, free wi-fi, and plenty of power outlets. Absolutely great place for students, business, and all around leisure with a lovely patio to boot.I miss this place and always try to stop in whenever I end up back in Taos. Please give it a try! (I will add more photos later)Dietary restrictions: Alternative non-dairy milks and gluten free dessertsParking: Often busy but usually a few spots always available”
“Best taco truck in town. You can’t go wrong with anything you get here from breakfast, to tacos, to plates. Everything is made fresh and the gals that work here are sweethearts. You won’t regret stopping by.”
“Cozy, contemplative bakery with top-notch pastries and excellent drip coffee. I bet the chai is also very good but I didn’t have a chance to return for seconds. The croissant items were really nicely done - crisp and rich at the same time. We had the bear claw, ham&cheese croissant, and the apple turnover.”
“Our Mercy Chefs team is in Taos feeding wildfire victims and first responders. We’ve been eating KOKO pastries almost every morning and they are amazing! Best gluten free Morning Glory muffin I’ve ever had. And the coffee is out of this world! Our team of professional chefs is impressed!”
“these are the flavors i have missed!! get the entree with the shrimp paste, forget what it is called. the lumpia is crispy & fresh! the halo halo is the halo-halo you have been dreaming about since way back when! i should leave a better review with pictures but— let’s do this, taos, we need these folks here. got the soup & lumpia yesterday, hit the spot. yum yum yum, you will not go wrong here”
“Fabulous coffee shop with GREAT coffee! My favorite cafe in Taos. Staff is friendly, helpful and efficient (hey, that can be important if it’s the first cup of the day! ?). Have not tried the food (yet), but the coffee is enough to keep me coming back!”
“We stumbled upon this place around breakfast time, and godDAMN was that a win! This is the kind of place with pastries that have a cult following and will sell out if you don't get there early. Apparently we just missed some kind of legendary sausage roll, but we got one of the last garlic-herb-cheese-onion things and it was fucking MAGICAL. We also got the hummingbird nest and the mint-creme-filled thing. Both were lovely. Everyone there is friendly and very enthusiastic. It's just a really great place. Note: we didn't get to try this because we didn't know it was an option, but... they have avocado toast with CANDIED BACON. Someone please get one on my behalf and SAVOR THAT SHIT.”
