Had lunch here today,AMAZING!! Love the retro feel of the bar area. Unfortunately, with the recent passing of the owner of the alcohol license they are currently unable to serve alcohol but are in the process of getting their own license. Knowing they serve North Carolina style BBQ, I was excited for their bbq sauces that I’ve heard so much about. Being in New Mexico they put their own spin on some classic faves like their mac and cheese. Can’t wait to return.

So, spending a Saturday afternoon with my 8 yr. Old granddaughter she says she is hungry and is set on having Mac & cheese. So I look for a place that serves Mac & Cheese and come across. Greg's BBQ. The food in the pictures looked so good and overall the reviews were really good so we were looking forward to our visit there. Walking in she sees the outdoor dining area and wants to sit there. The hostess just points us to the door. After we discuss her craving for the Mac & Cheese and how we came to choose GREGS with our server, my girl decides she is too cold outside and instead of relocating us to the nice, new, pretty dining room she sits us in the dark, empty, old section of the place. But still, this is ok. Our food came out very fast. She with her Mac & Cheese and side of fries and I ordered the pulled pork with a side of beans. And being it was our first time visiting Greg's, when asked of my preference of sauce, I asked for both spicy and not spicy sauces with my sandwich unaware and unadvised that I would be charged for the second sauce. Still, not a big deal.It had been advertised as having a full bar, but in fact, there was no bar at all. Not even bottled beer. Ok. No problem. We ordered 2 lemonades. Mine priced at $2.99 tasted like lemon water with a hint of sugar. My girl excitedly digging in to her food is very surprised and disappointed to find that her Mac & cheese is quite spicy. Commenting on this to our server she NOW informs us of the addition of red chili to the dish. Mind you, this was ordered from the kids menu and not mentioned on the menu. The home style fries could have been a great side had they been cooked long enough and drained of the grease better. My sandwich was very good, although it was pictured with a lot more of the cole slaw on the sandwich. But as for the sauce? Neither one was very appealing to me nor were the beans. They both had an overpowering vinegar taste. When our server asks how the food is I tell her the Mac & cheese is too spicy for the child. She offers to have them make one of the other choices from the kids menu. My girl decided on chicken strips with green beans. She brings her food and the green beans which I thought were very tasty were heavily seasoned with black pepper making them too spicy for the child. And the sauce that came with the strips, spicy. She asked how my food was and I express my dislike for the sauce and she comments on the addition of the vinegar. After eating maybe half of my sandwich and my girl having about 3 bites of her food, we ask for boxes and get our bill. I was surprised to find that I had been charged for both kids meals. Commenting on that, we were not even offered any type of explanation or any effort to apologize for our dissatisfaction. I guess they have plenty of satisfied patrons and aren't trying to grow their customer numbers. The place was pretty quiet with us in the darkness and the 2 other tables they were serving. Overall, the service was good. But in my opinion, they handled the kids meal fiasco poorly. Having experience in food service and being part of a family in the restaraunt business for many years I was very turned off by their lack of effort to fix our dinner. For the amount of money that I spent there, I would have expected more. I doubt I will be returning any time soon. I get better customer service from any fast food restaurant in town.

The food is good and our server was great. Giving 4 stars instead of 5 because the owner was a little rude to a different customer, IOO. The stuffed baked potato was huge & loaded with meat. Definitely recommend! However, the mini taco order only came with 3 for $9 so the value on those wasn't great and we wouldn't order those again.

Stop by from Abq on the way to see the Harvey House Museum. The food, alone, was worth the drive. I had the two meat platter with very tender Brisket and pulled pork. Very good, but the star was my partner's Loaded baked potato topped with Brisket (or pork for another option). It was huge and delicious. Everything was great with good portions and a very fair price.Service was friendly and atmosphere was nice.Definitely worth the drive!

We've ordered here a few times. I got the BBQ brisket sandwich it was very good. My wife got the chicken fried steak, quite possibly the worst We've ever gotten. The meat was like leather even the dogs has trouble chewing it. Every thing else was okay.

Maybe I went on a bad night but I wasn’t impressed, owner was at the bar talking about how poorly he paid his staff and the brisket and pork were pretty underwhelming.

We drove from Bosque Farms after reading the reviews and wanting to try a new place while supporting local businesses. What a major disappointment. Their website advertises a full bar. Not only was there not a full bar but only a handful of bottled beers yet their dining room was decorated with growlers. My date ordered the brisket platter which was basically a platter of French fries and green beans with two very small pieces of meat (when asked about the small portion of meat the waitress said they weigh out a 1/4 pound!). I ordered the hamburger and after taking a bite, sent it back. We both agreed the meat tasted old! The server rolled her eyes at me when I requested another meal, a major turn off.We won’t be back, it truly was such a disappointment.

This place is always on point. Each of the BBQ meat options are great by themselves but add in the beans and/or mac and cheese and it makes a meal worth driving out to Belen for. Right off the freeway, very convenient. Portions are generous and prices are reasonable. Order for takeout was ready in 10 minutes. The vibe inside the dining room is classy comfortable. Highly recommend this place, it’s now are go-to for BBQ and we live 20 minutes north.
