Twisters Burgers and Burritos

I had a carnaalovada burrito and it was end that good.

Located in the middle of a small shopping center just off Highway 550, the Bernalillo Twisters Cafe may not impress with its ordinary fast-food joint aesthetics, but what it lacks in ambiance, it more than makes up for in its delightful New Mexican cuisine.

One of several Twisters locations dotting the Albuquerque, Rio Rancho, and Bernalillo area, this cafe is a short 10-minute walk from the Rail Runner station. Upon entering, you're greeted by a friendly and attentive cashier/server who often engages in banter with the local townspeople, calling them by name. This camaraderie is a testament to the establishment's popularity among the locals.

My recommendation? Try the carne adovada burrito smothered in red chile sauce. The generous portion, almost a foot in length, is a flavorful masterpiece that will leave you in awe. Each bite is a burst of authentic Northern New Mexico flavors, making you realize that this is how real New Mexican food should taste. While the chile is classified as mild, it packs a punch for those unaccustomed to the spicy heat of New Mexico cuisine.

Although all Twisters cafes uphold the same quality of food, the Bernalillo location holds a special place in many hearts due to its cozy, community ambiance. The counter person's genuine concern for my dining experience, asking if everything was alright, was met with a wide grin and an honest assurance that the food was truly fantastic.

Not from around here. First time I ever tried twisters, got a breakfast burrito with ham and bacon with eggs and cheese.. green chili etc ..and OMG ? was it good , 10 / 10 will be back !!! Affordable and delicious ? thanks guys !

Generally Twisters is awesome but I am a bit disappointed with this branch. They will not serve water even if you offer to pay for it for the price of a soda. Only bottled water which is generally more expensive than soda.

Closing team at this location are incompetent! They can’t even count back change! They never placed our order and weren’t observant enough to realize we were wasting over 30 minutes! Their district manager who was sick on loa was zero help and very condescending. I guess if you stop and eat here you may or may not get your order.

Got their at 8:50 see then close the door on us then when we pull up to the drive through they say their closed ( it says they close at 9 )

Would not recommend stopping here. The guy at the front counter has zero personality and couldn't even get the words out to answer questions. After ordering food the cook in the hollered up to the front to tell them there was no queso. The guy called the person in my party over to ask if he could substitute it but it wasn't for him, so instead of waiting the guy behind the counter started talking trash on the gentleman. All good orders came out wrong and when asked to fix the orders it was a huge ordeal and they didn't want to fix until we showed the receipt. After finishing our food we emptied our baskets and placed them on top of the trash bins where the sign says to place and the guy behind the counter said oh my God when he went to pick them up.

We waited for 40 minutes in an empty diner before realizing they never even started the order. I love twisters but the night staff in bernalillo are rude, incompetent, and couldn’t even count our money back when giving a refund. I would never stop at that location again. At the very least they should’ve apologized. The only one I won’t complain about is the new girl who was learning the front. She seemed to be the only one who tried to help is us. She was the only one I saw working and cleaning. You need to keep her and get rid of the rest.

Breakfast burrito ? are good. Green chile cheese fries are addicting.

We put in an online order for beans and rice and when we went to pick it up they said they didn’t have it. So we asked if they could prepare the order for us, ask us if we want full half a pan. We say, “full please”, they come back and say “we can only do half a tray” so we said, ok we will do two half orders. Then the worker shakes his head and mumbles something under his breath. This place is a joke.
