Overall a decent experience. We come to Capitan often and rarely see this place open so we thought we'd try today. The service was prompt but be advised when they ask if you want chips and salsa they charge for them. The New Mexican food had a good flavor but absolutely no heat. The staff was nice but next time I'll try a burger!

Have eaten in El Paisano many times. Love the Green Chile Pork Stew. The Apple pie is homemade and is delicious. Enjoy a great meal at El Paisano.

I wish I could like this place more. I love the mom and pop hole in the walls. Not good if you require dietary accommodations.The good: fantastic food and lovely people. The atmosphere is very homey. Sometimes native jewelry, etc for sale.The meh: slow service. They run out of things throughout the day (get here early).The bad: it’s really hard to recommend this place if you require dietary accommodations. I can’t have dairy among other things and they did not realize that cheese has dairy. Cash only.

I only went here one time they left the restaurant open with the owner in the back doing some work on What looks like a storage shed what was being rented out As a house. When I got her to come in, my food seemed like it came out of a microwave was very disappointed. I don't know if it was a fluke of a visit what haven't been rolling to go back

The food was way overpriced , not authentic and very nasty. Now about the owner. She was very rude and shes a racist. Shewas talking about trump and how she encouraged the Capital Riots. Our Family will never be back.

We can't believe what we saw and experienced. This place is an ILLUSION. The prices for what you actually get is CRIMINAL!!! $2.50 for an Egg. So many hidden prices tacked on to our bill. Portions of the food are ridiculous. AND Worst of all the plate is NUKED and IRRADIATED. The owner hides the sign CASH ONLY to Zap you to pay cash after you have eaten your dinner! We saw her take a tip off the table and pocket it! REALLY!! The only good thing I can say, is the waitress was SUPER friendly and very efficient. I sure hope she gets her tip I Left her. DON'T BE FOOLED!!! Now I know why there was no business there and the other Restaurant was full.
