If you're doing pet reservations with them, it's understaffed and needs better communication. Otherwise the cave and care is remarkable
After the full cavern walk a smothered beef burrito in the tavern really hit the spot. Staff was super friendly, shout out to Pat for making a simple cafeteria lunch a great experience!
We loved the Cavern but this is a review of the gift shop. We bought 5 t shirts and I wear a XXL normally with no issue. The XXL we got from here was more like a Large. The shirts run extremely small. This was not the only one that ran this small. I would try them on before buying. We are so disappointed since 3 shirts don’t fit at all. Had to give them to our son.
Edit: The gift shop did contact me regarding the shirt sizes and did what they could to make the situation right.
The location is worth being there since coming out of the Carlsbad Caverns to get nick nack collectibles and alien stuff so fun. The coffee is great go to the left and in the back and get some, in expensive too. The gentleman I spoke with at the counter when you enter was super informative of the area. He wears a baseball cap so you’ll recognize him. Thanks for all the info on the area sir! Worth stopping in, large store inside.. oh and check out the Sasquatch!! Insanely cool
You can spend the whole day and still not see everything definitely a must see
My mom and I visited Carlsbad Caverns Trading Company today and had a wonderful experience. Excellent gift shop with lots of variety, and some nice treats at the end of the day exploring the caverns. Pat in particular was very kind and helped us work through a payment issue. Thanks for having us!
Limited cafe in the gift shop at the Caverns entrance. Nothing gluten free but Lays potato chips and soda. The cafe inside the Caverns is gone but there is a limited gift shop down there, but just the same stuff as the ground level shop
We had an incredible day in the cave!
And then it got even better. We enjoyed a sandwich in the Cafe and PAT served us the most delicious sauce on the the pork sandwich. A wonderful day
An amazing gift shop. They have everything! We got $10 t-shirts and like 5 different alien things for only $15. The aliens out front were very fun to pose with as well.
Horrible kennel experience. I don’t think I’ve ever run into a ruder more angry person than the young lady working in the gift shop. It was unprovoked and so unnecessarily hostile that I could quite possibly gaslight myself into thinking it didn’t happen?!? Never able to board our dog and frankly wouldn’t have left her with them anyways after that experience. They also had a piece of dog crate outside the kennel entrance that was covered in feces. Apparently the situation with the woman in the gift shop is well known as per the park rangers. They told me they have had lots of issues and to please fill out a survey. Who ever runs this place needs to look into this. If the woman at the gift shop reads these reviews ….you are too young to be such an angry person. I hope you find peace and settle whatever is making you so angry/upset.Anyway - make other arrangements for your dog so you can enjoy the park as a family.
Very bad service !! Very dirty place
Drove over 9 hours, saw nothing posters out cavern entry at 2:30pm, was at the desk 2:31pm and they wouldn’t even let me run to join the last group. Literally missing this experience by a single minute could not believe it.
Received the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced when I wanted to purchase my item on 2/18/24 around 10:30am. I walked to the counter closest to the entrance to the gift shop and the employee working there gave me the stink eye and silent treatment when I asked to pay. (“Hi can I purchase this”) She begrudgingly took my item, scanned it and sarcastically waved her hand at the credit card prompt for me to pay. When my card didn’t immediately go through, she did it again. After the payment went through, she just grabbed the receipt and slid it on the counter to me, like she was afraid to even touch me when handing the receipt over. I said thank you and she just glared at me until I walked away. I don’t know if the cause of her behavior was race motivated or if she was just having a bad day (she had long black hair and 1 AirPod in … I don’t think that affected her ability to hear me) but if you’re getting paid to work in customer service I think it’s part of your job to be friendly to everyone. I previously saw her help another customer and her demeanor was okay.I would recommend the bookshop instead where you can get your national park passport stamped. They were so friendly and even answered some of our questions about the park. The bookshop isn’t as large but it was definitely a more pleasant experience than this one.
Nice selection of postcards and a wide variety of magnets. The magnets are kinda expensive though.
It's ok. T shirts are a bit over priced with most of the stuff there lol
