“Carlsbad was described to me as a food desert. So, when our first evening there, after exploring the NP, my husband was bored of the hotel Happy Cow to the rescue. I actually saw Yellow Brix on our drive in. Brightly lit with lots of people eating outdoors under festive lightning. The interior isnt as festive, but still nice. Per another reviewer, ask for the Vegan menu. There are only 2 entree options, tacos or burritos, plus salads. We got both entrees which have the same ingredients, comes with fries. The filing is a sautéed vegetable mix of broccoli zucchini squash mushrooms & bell pepper. We thought they tasted great with the accompanying beans, guacamole & pico. Wait time was 40 minutes on a Sunday, but this is the only place in town I'd trust to a sit down meal. Updated from previous review on 2024-11-28”

“Our first time today. We had a super lunch. Started out with the tea being fresh. Salsa and chips were tasty, not too spicy, shrimp tacos, perfectly balanced with a nice slaw and avacado. Pork asado extremely flavorful yet not too hot! Will definitely go back again!”

“Today, my wife and I ate at Anomaly Deli House for the first time. At first, we thought it was a bit pricey, but bang for buck, it's well worth it. Our sandwiches were hands down the best in town, fresh ingredients that will have your taste buds wanting more. I can usually eat a 12" sub sandwich with ease. By the time i was done, I couldn't eat another bite. My wife had to get a to go box for the rest of hers, and she got the 8". The ladies there were all very friendly, the service was amazing and quick. Next time you're in the mood for a good sandwich, Anomaly Deli House is where to go!”

“Went there today and had no idea what I wanted, but they were super patient and friendly. Their customer service is on point. I, also, got a chance to try their chicken and waffles. Did you know they have CHICKEN AND WAFFLES?! Well they do, and they’re topped off with a sweet/spicy sauce called “besito caliente”. It’s delicious. Thank you, Tiki Tops!”

“Decided to try Jilligans after several people at work mentioned it to me. We had the lasagna and alfredo both were fantastic. The serving size was generous, we has leftovers for the next day, and it was still delicious. We also tried the cheesecake, and I had the pumpkin, and my husband had the keylime. Both were great. “Went down today from Roswell hoping to make it back before school, didn’t make it in time but it was well worth it!! I got the breakfast quesadilla and the brisket nachos. Hands down the best quesadilla I’ve ever had! Brisket nachos were also amazing! If you’re in town…even if you’re not, I highly recommend stopping by and getting something, customer service is just as good as the food! 10/10 gonna have to make that drive for it again!”

“Stopped by when passing through to eat and this is now a must stop when in Carlsbad NM. We had a barbacoa plate and quesabirria tacos. They were absolutely perfect! So delicious. Barbacoa was not greasy or fatty but was still moist and birria was so good with just the right amount of spice!”

“I love the food but I wish they put their actual hours. I've gone 3 times in the middle of the day and they've been closed every single time, online it says 5am-7pm, this is not true, they close at 2pm. Unfortunately for me I didn't know this and their hours in real life are in Spanish and the hours on Google are incorrect. Would love to eat here more often it sucks theyre closed that early.”

“This is Honestly the best food truck I have eaten at so far! I literally just sat out here in the parking lot until they opened up just so I can grab food b4 I go home. My wife and I loved the Hamburgesas and the Dogos! The Asada Tacos are also to die for. Recommend for sure. Prices are also Not over charged like most places.”

“An excellent Mexican food meal. Queso and guacamole are good and reasonably priced. Carne Asada, tacos, quesadillas. Most expensive thing on the menu was $14. Seriously recommend that you skip the over priced restaurants and eat here. This was our best meal in Carlsbad.”

“I usually get tacos here for lunch. My wife and I love them because they are not greasy. Made to order while you wait for them. Of course the shell is pre-made, as are the rest of the ingredients which make for a fast turnaround time. This time I went to get nopales and corn chips. I ended up skipping the nopales because they were old and had dark spots on them. So I only got the chips.”

“Fantastic place - we enjoyed the rolled ice cream after a LONG drive and it was a perfect treat. Tables could have used a wipe down, but since we were eating at the motel, it didn't really impact me.

“After dinner, we weren’t through being together, so decided to have a drink and sit adn talk. There is a bar, the Blue Cactus Lounge at the Stevens Inn. Sounded good. It’s rather a large place with tables all about. Not really quaint. But dark-ish. We sat at the bar and were served by a most pleasant bar tender. She was both attentive and friendly. We drank wine and played W, W & S. It was a good end to a nice day.”

“I really enjoyed the chips and salsa. I ordered the smothered burrito which was very large. I had the steak which was cooked very well and topped with slices of tomato and avocado. It was covered in some of the best green sauce I've ever had. My friend had the enchiladas and he liked them as well. I'm definitely going to go back and try some more of the menu.

“They are located inside Chili's. Parking place for pick up to the right of the restaurant. Food came out within 5 min after we checked in. We came during noon time on a Sunday. I got the apple bbq with curly fries. But the food has regular fries. Food was pretty decent.”

“The best green chile cheeseburger in the state of New Mexico. The bun was perfectly toasted, covered in diced onions, a healthy stealthy hot green chile blend, melt cheese and a decent sized patty. They off the San option in the “flip” a burger in a grilled tortilla, with beans, cheese, lettuce, and tomato. The soft tacos were corn, lightly grilled with butter & filled with a copious blend of lettuce, cheese, & ground beef, served with chili con queso, for dipping of course. If you are a vegetarian, no problemo, they make everything to order, and use fantastic produce. This restaurant is worth the drive to Carlsbad New Mexico, from anywhere! I ate there twice in an hour.”

“Let me tell you, every restaurant needs a server like John at Pizza Inn on Pierce!!! John is by far the BEST most attentive server we have ever had anywhere! He goes above and beyond to make sure that the customer is taken care of! The pizza has been good every time we have been in but today it was REALLY REALLY GOOD! “We were visiting from El Paso and trying to find food at a place that didn’t close by 9am. We landed at this food truck and we are all glad that we did! The tacos Al pastor were delicious. The California burrito was delicious. The carne asada quesadilla was delicious. And the green salsa that comes with it, delicious. We were very pleased with the food. Now it did take some time but the lady said some workers left her hanging so she was by herself. But it was fine for us and I would say worth the wait. When we go back to Carlsbad we will be visiting this food truck again.”

“I thought I was going to get some mediocre food at 3:00 in the afternoon thinking I was going to get lunch leftovers, boy was I wrong. This was fresh and hot, the sides were crisp and cold for salad and Cole slaw like it was just made. The service was excellent. My waitress never let my tea get too low and was attentive when I needed something. The restaurant was very clean and very unique. I definitely recommend this place and will be back many times. Sorry for the empty plate picture, but I got caught up when it came out and ate it before I remembered to take a pic.”
