“Went to dine in March 2024. Food was amazing and the staff was friendly and so helpful. My hubby ordered the Jerk Chicken which was very tender and flavorful. I had the shrimp and grits. My family is from New Orleans and we know how to make this dish. Lucky Bull's version was the best I have ever had! Delicious! We will eat here everytime we travel through Carlsbad!“
“After dinner, we weren’t through being together, so decided to have a drink and sit adn talk. There is a bar, the Blue Cactus Lounge at the Stevens Inn. Sounded good. It’s rather a large place with tables all about. Not really quaint. But dark-ish. We sat at the bar and were served by a most pleasant bar tender. She was both attentive and friendly. We drank wine and played W, W & S. It was a good end to a nice day.“
“I go to a lot of different Chilis in many different towns. This one is by far the best one. I usually sit and eat at the bar. The tiny little lady behind the bar gave better service than any wait staff I have ever had. Not only was she keeping up with a busy evening oilfield shift but she never missed a beat. My drink never got down below half, my food was fresh and tasted excellent and the restaurant was the cleanest Chilis I’ve been to. You can tell that the manager cares about the upkeep of this place. Even the bathrooms were spotless. And that’s saying something with the crowd that was here. All Chilis should send their managers and bar tenders to this location to learn how to serve and how they should keep their restaurants. I would put this Chilis up against any. I will come here every time I’m passing through. Great job!“
“What a great place! Enjoyed talking to the owner Lucas, his Dad, and another brewer/bartender that I didn't get his name. Historic building, very good beer and ale, very friendly staff. Local gathering place. I hope we can visit there again. If you are in Carlsbad, this is a must stop.“
