The cheeseburger was very good. They were busy, people were complaining of the wait time even after calling ahead. It took exactly 30 minutes before I asked about my order, she panicked like it was never turned in, I asked for my money back if they hadn't started cooking it, I was ok and would go down the road. She magically had a burger for me but as I left town, I realized it wasn't even my burger. Not at all what I ordered or paid for.

Went to try it after a long time of not having had it. Specifically asked if chips and pickle spear came with club sandwich which I used to love. He even asked the cooks. No pickle, which is part of great taste to sandwich. But the worst part was the steak finger basket, they were so over cooked. Very dark and very hard to eat. They were dry and hard, which made then hard to chew and unpleasant. And not very warm at all. Waited while several people got their orders ahead of us that got there after we did. I understand things happen, but why serve food that has been almost burned thru as you can see in pics. Miss the good food from there.

Tried to give this place a chance. Ordered a burger and was told it would be about 25 minutes. Ok cool, I'll run across the street and pick up a few things at the grocery store. Returned 30 mins later to find out my order hadn't been started yet. Cashier forgot what I ordered and that I had already paid. She reassures me it will be ready in 5 mins...ok no problem I'll wait. 40 mins later I finally had to cancel the order as I had a 2 hour drive ahead of me. Unbelievably terrible work ethic by the kids working the establishment. What an embarrassment for the town of Carlsbad.

The only reason Church Street is getting a one star for service is because it doesn't allow for negative numbers! On 01/20/2024 at approximately 5pm my wife went to Church Street Grill to pick up an order she had placed at 4:45pm. Since the drive thru was very busy and she was on a time crunch she went to the pick up window. She waited 10 minutes in the cold without being acknowledged by any of the workers in there. Finally a girl opened the window and asked the name of the order, took the money, which my wife added a tip to, and the window was shut. Over 30 minutes later when the window was reopened to give someone else their order she had to stop them from closing it, and asked about her order. The boy had the audacity to ask if she payed for it. When she said yes and it had been over 30 minutes, the dude walks to the warming drawer and retrieves the food! Freaking disgusting. Places like this that don't take the time to ensure their employees know what decent customer service is should not be frequented by customers. Unfortunately, this is more and more the case. Hike up food prices and care less about the customer.

So I decided to give this restaurant a try again yesterday and ordered the Richard fries with meat. I ordered through DoorDash to my work. It was delicious……… but by the time I got home that night my stomach was hurting by the next day I was sick. . Stomach pains and nausea. Pretty sure I got food poisoning. Had to miss work and everything. Won’t order food there again . But my drink was fantastic!

It’s a wonderful small spot in a small town. All American food. I ordered a double bacon cheeseburger and the smothered burrito both were fantastic. Burrito was big enough to feed a family of 4, slightly spicy and tons of cheese. They also gave me a wonderful treat after seeing my dog. The young man working there gave my dog some bacon with my order. I was pleasantly surprised with this place.
I don't I will be ordering here again in the future. The food is not prepared like I remembered it. I specifically asked if the smothered burritos were fried the woman replied yes. So I went and ordered. It was not fried but soggy and so gross. So for me never again.

But, I can state that the service is terrible.I stopped off wanting to give this place a go being that it's a local place. When I walked up to the window I was the only person waiting to be served with 3 cars in the drive thru. My initial thought was this should be fairly quick. To my chagrin, I was never officially acknowledged with a greeting or even a dirty look. What I did get was a young boy that made eye contact with me and a hesitancy to come to the window, almost as if he was dodging my order. This occurred about 3 times while I was at the window. The final time, one of the girls working in the establishment walked away from the food prep area with a bottle of mustard in her hand. She seemed to be approaching the window to greet me but instead she turned away after making eye contact with me and went back to work. It was a little bit after 7 which I immediately thought they must be closed. I check Google and it showed them closing at 8pm. At that point I did not want to be rude and knock on the window and I did not have time to wait around for them to show some kind of hospitality. Maybe I'm just old fashioned but customer service sometimes makes up for bad food. From the many reviews on Google it seems that this is standard practice. If I had to say, I wouldn't waste your time going to this establishment, there are many other options in the area.A word of advice to management, clean up house and get someone that is willing to show some pride in your company. I hope this is just a recent phenomenon but if it is not then this type of service only hurts and will ultimately lead to your business' demise.
