VERY GOOD! We visited Carlsbad from out of town and were very happy with the food, service and the atmosphere. The sever was a one man show, bussing tables, taking orders and bringing us food but still made sure we were taken care of! Food was VERY good, authentic and delicious. We had the combo plate, beef fajitas, flautas, and beef enchiladas. Would recommend all of them!

Came through Carlsbad on Easter and were so happy El Nopal was open!! The service was wonderful and the food was SO good. Chips were warm and salsa was excellent. I had red chile cheese enchiladas and my fiance had quesabarria both were such a treat! Highly recommend picking El Nopal on your visit to Carlsbad!

Would definitely recommend to stop and grab your authentic Mexican food very fresh and delicious. You won’t be disappointed. Staff was very attentive and friendly atmosphere.
Great food overall! The rice and beans or the best sides in town no question about it! Chicken or beef fajitas are my go to plates can’t ever miss with that!
The reviews on google were spot on. The food was amazing. Great service despite one woman doing everything from taking orders to bussing tables and waiting tables. The salsa verde that was served as an appetizer was amazing! We ordered quesabirria, barbacoa, carne asada, and al pastor tacos. All were so good. Definitely recommend.
The raspberry chimichangas were so good. I really enjoyed the enchiladas. Happy, small establishment. ?

WOW! We were passing through while visiting some national parks and ate here not once, but twice! The quesabirrias and ramen are to die for! Also, the people there are incredibly nice! I would recommend this place to anyone passing through.

Best mexican food in town! Great salsa for your chips for starters. You get to order ,pay ,sit,eat and enjoy! ? from the menudo to the pozole and the tamales, can’t forget the birria tacos and soup! Everything is a hit!
