I have been here twice. First time was a Sunday, they closed at 2pm. The second time I really wanted prime rib. They only serve it on weekends. And one if those weekend days they were closed at 2. The food was mediocre at best. Flavorless and bland. It would be ok... for hospital food.

I moved to Carlsbad about six months ago and this is one of the best restaurants I have visited so far. Both husband and I had the prime rib with loaded baked potato, which were both very good, and the potato was truly loaded with tons of butter, sour cream, cheese and bacon. The real standout was the incredible salad bar. It has a huge variety of choices and everything was fresh and constantly being refreshed during the dinner hour. We are still talking about the salad bar and planning to return in the near future. I didn't have high hopes because it is located in a motel, but was very pleasantly surprised by our experience. Most of the food in Carlbad has been mediocre at best and I'm happy to have found this gem!

This is a great place to eat. The only thing I would say bad about this place is if you want to eat in lounge and you are a male, don't wear a tank top. Its plain stupid. My husband and I went to eat there, it was a hot day, they would not allow us to sit in lounge to eat because he had on a tank top,
