Step back in time and stay in small cowboy feel rooms. We fell in love with this hotel and my wife loved the green chili they prepared in the restarunt. We will go out of out way to stay there again.

Fosters is a hometown favorite place to be! Everytime I come visit I have to stop in I have never stayed in the hotel. I always wanted to go and explore I have heard stories. Maybe one day I will get to check them outNearby activities: Fosters is located across the street from the train depotWalkability: Fosters is located at the North End of town but very close to all the shopping and train

Came for dinner inside the bar. It's good music, and we were able to watch the game while waiting. The server was very polite, but the place seemed to be very understaffed, and even with that, the server still did a great job of helping us out. Ordered the smothered burrito, and it was pretty good. Great flavor with the whole plate, but the food wasn't very warm about room temperature.

After reading other reviews and maybe big town people that are always in a rush, this is a small town location. Nobody was in a hurry, sit down and chill, maybe talk to the people you're with, even local people will talk with you. Yes there was only one server, did see a couple cooks. The food was good, we had good service and loved the wood burning stove in the center of the restaurant! There was a salad bar, it was fresh. This place has been run by 2 maybe three generations, it's cool that family members would continue the business especially.

The best bartender I have ever met!

I had dinner at Fosters Restaurant. It was a bit of a disappointment to me... The trout was way too salty. The corn was cold and dry. The mashed potatoes were lumpy and smothered in gravy. (I would have preferred no gravy, however, with some butter.)The waitress had too much to handle. Not enough help. So, I, for one, would not go back to this restaurant.

We played pool and had a beer at a territorial bar. Friendly locals.Nearby activities: Toltec and Cumbres Railroad is literally across the street!

The most welcoming place of business in Chama. The staff and even the customers are super friendly and inviting. The food is delicious, plentiful and not overpriced. The bar has that old school New Mexico flavor and the hardest working bartenders you will ever find. They are located directly across from the Train Station. Better call ahead if you want to stay in their remodeled but still western, cozy, Hotel.

This place is clearly a local place with regular patrons which is great. Guessing they're either short-staffed or just not well-managed. After waiting first in the restaurant & then bar, we had to ask twice if we could be helped. Placed our order to-go & then waited an hour for grilled trout to be delivered to us without side & with wrong potato choice. Fish was good but not worth the wait. (Live music in bar was the positive.)

Ate here on a Friday evening and ordered the chicken enchiladas and they were better than expected and a huge portion too. The beer was cold and a good match with Mexican food. The only negative was lack of wait staff. There was only one waitress working numerous tables. Some of us took it upon ourselves to go to bar to get glasses of water rather than wait. It was not her fault however. There should be more staff especially during peak times like weekends and dinner.

The only place open at lunch on a holiday weekend. Sat in the bar, bar person was friendly, but waitress took 40 minutes to bring chips and salsa, the salsa and guacamole were in small plastic containers that were right of the shelf and the chips were inedible. I had to get my order to go, I was soooo mad. The burger I ate on the side of the road was basic, hard to mess that up. really disappointing, it seems like they would have the basics down by now. Should have believe the reviews.

We went for dinner at 6:15 PM. The waitress/bartender took our drink and food order right away. Nothing came for an hour. We noticed locals came in later than us and were served first. We got up to leave and we noticed the locals had already finished eating. Its funny how our food and drinks came shortly after we started to walk out. Would not recommend this place to anyone not local. We spoke to another couple from Texas the following day and they had the same experience.
