I realize the temptation to stop here as it is literally the only restaurant after 2 hours of nothingness...BUT, grab some snacks at the Family Dollar across the street and KEEP DRIVING! If I could give less than 1 star I would! This place is TERRIBLE!!! Server was inattentive & unfriendly. Sodas were flat. None of our food had seasoning of any kind. With salt & pepper, my wife managed to choke down most of her chicken fried steak. Only took 3 bites of the gluey potatoes. My steak was also tasteless but I choked it down with some A1 ($30 steak)! No butter for potato. Somehow our total was $67!!! $75 with credit card fee & very generous $5 tip (said with sarcasm). Consider yourself warned!

Small town steakhouse.

It was ok food, nothing to write home about. The service was good and friendly. The Homade Chicken Steak gravy looked like and tasted like watered-down gravy. Will maybe give it a second chance one day.

I consider myself an honest reviewer. I’ll start with the positive the place seems clean and we honestly picked this place because online it looked decent and reasonable. Food was basic but enjoyable. Service is a little slow and the waitress seems like she is going a million miles per hour with maybe 3 tables at most in the restaurant. She might also be the person cooking so maybe that’s why she seemed so busy. What I didn’t appreciate at all is the prices on the menu are not what I was charged. She did apologize and said menus are not updated and obviously paying $4 extra per plate wasn’t something I was happy to do. Based on basic food, service and not honoring menu prices. I only give this place 3 stars āļø. We’re a military family coming from Fort Carson down to Fort Cavazos so we had no option but to stop and eat. Hope this post helps others traveling.

Fun place to eat for the whole family. A lot of food for the price.

Good place for a late lunch. Food was good except okra needed to be fried longer.

Came for dinner in a Wednesday, so we got Mexican and chicken fried steak. Was V good. The staff is probably over worked but busting their butts. Absolutely amazing salsa. I would buy by the gallon if I could.

If you are traveling through Clayton NM and hungry..keep driving..It says it's a steakhouse..it isn't..it's a diner that serves very cheap cuts of meat..my wife's burger was one of those frozen precooked Patty's..they don't have butter..I ask for butter for my potato and got some nasty vegetable spread.
$55 for terrible food..

Tried to place a to go order tonight including a salad. Waitress dropped a menu in front of me and pointed to salad dressing choices. I didn’t have my reading glasses and asked again for the choices. She rolled her eyes at me then proceeded to give me my choices…I walked out. Insanely unfriendly service. We got tacos from a food truck down the road.
