“Finding a Soul Food restaurant in Clovis NM was a surprise but finding a really great Soul Food place in Clovis, NM was amazing. I walked in around 2:30 so really quiet at the time and ordered a 12.99 platter which consisted of fried chicken, sweet yams, biscuit, greens and mac and cheese. All the items were home made and delicious but the green were the stand out side dish. The greens were made with pork and had a bite of spice that was perfect. If you want to eat some tasty southern food this is a great place to go!“
“As soon as you walk in the door of Mama Jean's, you feel at home. The staff is welcoming, friendly, and inviting.Plenty of food, dessert and drink options!Today my friends and I ordered:?Rib plate? Chicken plateCatfish plateAll the plates came with 3 sides!I ordered the fried chicken plate and the banana pudding cheesecake. Chicken is seasoned, tender, juicy and has the outer layer of crunch you expect and want for fried chicken. Collar greens were a little spicy, sweet and salty. Mac and cheese had the cheesy crust. Banana pudding cheesecake was perfect! Not overly sweet, but just sweet enough! The amount of food you get for the price is unreal! You basically pay for 1 meal, but get enough food for 2. They are very generous and delicious, flavorful portions.Parking available across the street.“
“My wife and I went today and were extremely impressed by this little place. Tucked away on a side street near the Pawn City is an incredibly charming little hole in the wall serving up extremely authentic Mexican food and very tasty southern comfort food. The food was outstanding, and tasted unbelievably fresh and bright; my wife got a catfish basket, and it was the best fried catfish either of us have had. Not to mention the portion sizes are MASSIVE. I'm a big dude, and i was straight up stuffed walking away with a to-go box; and for $40 with tax and tip, my wife and I got essentially 4 meals, some good tea, and a huge slice of cake. The atmosphere is charming and uplifting, and it's run by the most personable lady with a very fine staff. If you're reading this and thinking of going, you should just go; at the BARE MINIMUM it's worth a shot, but I expect you'll be as pleased as we are. Just know that the menu is a little limited on Saturdays. Can't wait to go back already. Thanks to the owner for a lovely experience; you and your guys rock.“
