I love the food and ambiance at Mulas. During my most recent visit, my party and I had a server who was friendly and prompt but who, unfortunately, was brand new to the restaurant and, as a result, was unfamiliar with just about every menu item and its ingredients. This really slowed down the process of ordering, as the server had to run to the kitchen again and again and again in order to get answers to each of our questions. Pretty much everything was great including the taste of the food. Somehow the night we were there, the food took too long to arrive, good thing we were having some great conversations with friends, otherwise we'd be irritated. The food literally came started coming out after an hour, 1-2 food at a time, and 20 minutes more apart. The wait staff explained that there were some issues going on in the kitchen.
The food was fantastic. It's served tapas-style, so we could have used more little plates than the single one we were provided so that we didn't mix those delicious sauces. There was just a small hiccup when the second set of dishes we ordered took a little too long to arrive. The ambience on the patio was lovely; however, in the dining room, the lighting was a bit harsh and not very inviting.
