I lived in new Mexico for 20 years and have eaten a lot of tamales. I was told by a restaurant in Deming that does not serve tamales that Alma's was the best anywhere. My wife and I went there and had tamales (red) and sopapillas. They were the best ever as recommended. The staff and owner were gracious and fun to visit with. I highly recommend this restaurant. The flavors they create are exceptional. They make you feel like you're guests in their home. Don't be distracted by the building's plain exterior because they focus on authentic Mexican flavors in their great kitchen. Prices are affordable and staff is attentive.

We found a great restaurant on our way home from Albuquerque NM. The restaurant is located in Deming and what a meal , everyone on our party enjoyed every bite. I had beef tacos, my mother in law had posole, hubby had carne asada burro, brother in law had green chili con carne. Everyone enjoyed our meals. Highly recommend
