“This Diner was an absolute *GEM* (literal and metaphorical) we’ve been roadtrippjng for 2 weeks with our 2 sons which has been its own series of comedic events but this diner was like an oasis to recharge. Delicious ice cream very kind and welcoming service. They let my 2 year old play with their toy ❤️🍦🍨. Also I am really into baking cookies and I love cookies and I consider myself an expert here and they sold us cookies that were soooo good. The cookies had chopped pecans and some blueberry fruit preserve in the center and it was like a shortbread almost. If they would be willing I would love that recipe because they were so good and I don’t even know what to call them!”

“Man oh man, do I recommend!! They have the best Strawberry Rhubarb pie I’ve ever had!! Perfect!! The cinnamon roll was soft with the perfect amount of cinnamon. I couldn’t stop eating it. I also tried the jalapeño cheddar bread and it was delicious!! I’ll definitely be back!!”

“Amazing coffee! Probably the best coffee I've ever had in my life. I got a 16oz. English Toffee Breve. We're driving across country from Oregon to Texas. We drove 46 minutes from Silver City, NM and it was totally worth the wait to get coffee from this little shop! ☕️🫖🖤”

We go for dinner, and have tried a wide selection of their menu items, and have enjoyed all of them. Last visit was October 2025. Casual atmosphere, friendly and attentive staff.”

“Recently had my MOMS funeral luncheon catered by Oly and her staff. The food was delicious and they took care of everything. This restaurant is by far the best in Deming and my favorite. The red and green enchiladas were perfect as well as the carne with red chile! Highly recommend La Fonda! Next time we are back I will definitely need some chile rellenos😋 10 star restaurant!! “Found this place by accident, we were coming from a camping trip. Decided to stop , service was great, food was delicious and good portions. Not a lot of people dining in but a lot of people picking up orders to go. Definitely will go back when in the area.”

“Great little takeout restaurant. The breakfast burritos are large, inexpensive and delicious (I get bacon, egg, potato, cheese). The smothered burrito plates are AWESOME and also huge. I get the plates and extra sides of rice and beans--a whole container of each is about 2 dollars. Call in your order for pickup for faster service. My favorite takeout place. Wish they were opened on weekends!”

“Driving thru Deming, on our way home from vacation and stopped by for dinner. Food was delicious, very friendly service and atmosphere was nice. Had music playing but not too loud that you couldnt talk. Outside and inside seating available. 10/10 I highly recommend. We tried the gorditas and chorreada burger. The red gordita had a nice little kick. They were kind enough to make some needed food adjustments. Muchas gracias!¡”

“Hoping to try the Khadi Pakora and Baingan Bhartha next. We’ve eaten here twice in two weeks and will be back every week hence. Neat truck-stop diner vibe. Very clean. The owners are lovely kind and neighborly. Plenty of vegetarian choices. Safe parking. Long haul truckers, you need to park and eat here. Anyone who appreciates fresh cooked meals, kind people and large portions for very reasonable prices needs to frequent this charming diner.”

“This food truck is easy to find. We ordered Carne asada quesadilla and chicharron burrito. Both are yummy. They have a table and chairs for those who want to dine in. We wanted to dine in but it's too cold, so we ended up eating inside the car. There's no parking area but I guess we can use the parking area beside it.”

“My family's been going to the Road Runner since it was a 24-hour/day truck stop when the only thing in Pojoaque was the Runner and La Mesita across the highway. . My long-time favorite is the green chile chicken enchilada , with the best sopapillas in the county, and American-style endless cups of coffee with cream. Their (all day) breakfast burritos, smothered or handheld, and menudo are, around here, considered the breakfasts of champions. And for non-locals, they have a nice patty melt.”

Stopped by for a late lunch on my way through town. I used the drive thru, as usual. It was happy hour, so my medium Dr. Pepper only cost a dollar. Wow! I had to get nacho fries even though they are expensive and don't come with enough cheese, because they are tasty and limited. This Taco Bell always seems to have them, but they could disappear at any moment.

Original review: I ate here twice in less than 2 weeks. Both times I went through the drive thru. The first time, Carla was really great. The second lady was nice too. Both times I was offered and received my hot sauce of choice. There were napkins in my bag too. The $2 veggie burrito is really good. Is it new? I never noticed it before.”
