A long wait but the food is worth it! And I will say that the waiting area is a great spot itself with its cool fire pit and comfy chairs. We ate on the bar side and enjoyed the bread, Mac and cheese, and trout entree. The flavor of everything was top-notch and the trout was particularly unique and delicious. Service was spotty and it took a long time to even get started after being seated. The maple fashioned was an outstanding take on the classic old fashioned. Hopefully I caught the service on an overwhelming night and it’ll be better next time because I’d love to go back.

medley was an unexpected surprise in El Prado. A creative menu of both food and cocktails that we would happily eat and drink any time.
The New Zealand lamb chops were as good as the reviews suggest and definitely a must have. We also had the trout and sole dishes which were amazing, and The creative components of each dish made for some very unique plates.
The Mexican chocolate lava cake was served in a chocolate dome which was a lovely presentation unlike any other I’ve had.
Our server, Skylar, was excellent and provided great service.

Great meal. The lamb chops off the appetizer menu are the best. Had those with a Cesar Salad. Great meal. All the other dishes were great. Superior service. Love the bottle of water at the table.

We waited over 45 minutes for our food while our waiter avoided eye contact or any explanation as to what was up. This is not acceptable while others who came in after us were being served. We will not be returning.

We got to dinner early and had some small plates. Lamb chops were amazing. Our main courses were excellent with the trout being a standout. Once the dinner crowd showed up in force we could tell they need a little more help and our waitress was really busy. But when the food is good you’re going to be busy. Staff was really nice and accommodating. Just a good experience all around.

Attentive service. Unfortunately, my lamb was tough, chewy, and inedible, though my boyfriend’s burger was tasty.

At Medley in Taos, the air hung soft, lights low, like dusk on a still river. Voices murmured, glasses chimed clean and faint. The server moved sharp, no wasted motion, plates laid down with quiet pride. The food was true—fresh fish, pulled from clear waters, and steaks, seared right, cut like butter. Each bite landed solid, paired with my old French red blend, a wine that held its own. Then dessert: chocolate mousse, deep as earth, met crème brûlée’s brittle fire, pure decadence. The room carried romance in its corners or stood firm for friends you’d want to shake. It was good. Damn good. A must while in town.

The food at Medley is really superb!
The New Zealand lamb chop starter is delightful with crispy leaks and a sweet sauce. But the star of the show (which I have had twice now it is so good) is the Steak Frites. The hangar steak is perfectly cooked and deliciously complemented by the peppercorn demi-glacé. The string fries are hands-down the best fries I have ever eaten, make sure you say yes to the addition of Parmesan and truffle oil on them. My partner had the Shrimp Grits and said he loved every mouthful. We finished up with chocolate lava cake in the chocolate shell, I will say it was maybe in the oven a minute or two too long as it did not have the lava center, but it was still delicious.
The craft cocktails here are really imaginative and delicious. I had a Maple Old Fashioned and a Blackberry Mule; both were excellent.
Our waiter Skylar was super friendly and attentive and did a great job in every way.
I have only two small points of criticism and I hope Medley will not be offended by them as I regardless give 5 stars across the board and you are 100% the best restaurant in the whole area.
1. The first glasses of water that came to the table were a tepid temperature and did not taste very fresh. I heard the couple at the next table comment on it also. The bottles of water that the waiter used to top up our glasses was crisp, fresh and cold, so just something odd about those first glasses.
2. No salt and pepper on the tables. This is a real pet peeve of mine. No, the chef does not know best how to season their dishes, everyone has a different palate and the kitchen cannot season to everyone’s taste. I like my food on the salty side and am frustrated when I have to ask for salt and pepper to be brought to the table. It is such a small thing. Would be great to see this accommodated at Medley.
Otherwise totally fantastic! You will always be my place for a special evening out.

Make reservations if you want to sit in the dining room! We decided to go on a Saturday night( no reservations) so we got a spot in the bar seating ( with a wait). Food was amazing and reasonably priced! Staff is friendly and attentive and we will make reservations next time we're in Taos for the full experience.

We were fortunate to have learned about this restaurant in a magazine highlighting the best of Taos. It did NOT disappoint. Worth the $$ from start to finish. The service was also exceptional. You will be lucky if you happen to get in Hannah’s section.
