I felt sorry for the poor girl working the desk, this property is horrible. After driving all day, it took half an hour to check in, the WiFi password wouldn’t work unless we walked to the lobby but even then the signal was too weak to reach our outside room. While they have tried to update, the chipped and cracked tile in the bathroom was terrible. Leaky faucet in the bathroom and the one thing we really looked forward to ... the pool was closed with no update on the website. We did not feel entirely safe as there was 24 security supposedly posted at the parking lot entrance. Maybe we would have felt safer if they had actually been there. The one good thing, it won’t be hard to get up and out of here in the morning!
Everything was great, clean, courteous staff. Only problem was the crappy frozen bag breakfast. It was in a black plastic bag, so imagine our surprise. We were told breakfast with the room, this is not what we expected.
Broken heater and microwave, lumpy, bumpy mattresses. Inept and rude front desk after 11pm .... rude cleaning crew. Security is 24hours, but many items broken in the room And night staff is lazy and will lie to you about late check out if u arrive late.
The place was rundown, shabby, dark, dirty and courtyards abandoned. Pictures on line didn't match at all what we experienced. Rooms across courtyard were open, curtains falling down and you could see inside them.
I arrived after dark, so didn't look the place over very carefully when I checked in. Searching for an ice machine next morning, I realized that much of the building was empty . . . There were weirdly quiet public spaces that were accessible but obviously disused, and other areas appeared to be undergoing intermittent renovation. (No work was happening that morning.) There was some interesting Indian-themed art decorating the walls. And of course there was a lot of HoJo orange. The room was clean and comfortable enough, and quiet. I did wish that the lamp on the desk could have been plugged in . . . There was no power point nearby. And the washing machine in the guest laundry was not working. If you just want a place to sleep and don't care about appearances, this hotel is good value.
I enjoyed being there; no problems with the internet. The reason I took the room was so I can connect with my Zumba online class. I really had a good time dancing and listening to my music. And the training was online, which made it perfect for me!
Front desk agent was super helpful and everything was easy breezy! Would definitely recommend this hotel over the others in the area. The lobby had awesome artwork from a local artist and my kids loved looking at all of the different statues!
I stay in Gallup several times a year and this was one of the better budget-motels that I have stayed in there. The property is clearly past its prime, but they seem to be doing some fixing up. My room was large and comfortable. It was also pretty quiet, which can be hard to find in Gallup due to the trains. The artwork around the lobby and such was nice to look at. I would be likely to stay there again in the future.
I booked this hotel because I have had generally good experiences over the last few years with Wyndham properties.I have seen some real improvements in run down, tarnished names (Like Super 8 and La Quinta), but this place... I’m a good news first kind of person, so here are the things I liked: The front desk is friendly and efficient. They got me checked in quickly and with no problem. The lobby was clean (but dark) and the beds were comfortable. The TV was high quality and worked well.So the news was not all bad, BUT- The property saw its better days 20-25 years ago. The room layout is obsolete and the furniture in my room looked like it had been trucked in from Goodwill (and banged up on the trip). The “decor” is dated and kind of incoherent. The carpet is old, stained and worn and the bathroom is nowhere near modern standards. There is a coffee maker, small microwave and small refrigerator in the room. The big problem that I have is something that should be obvious and easy to fix-Broken furniture in the parking lot, construction detritus lying everywhere, outdoor trash cans defaced with spray paint, broken cinder blocks scattered about...These would be bad enough on their own, but this kind of neglect tends to attract a kind of customer that can make for an uncomfortable family atmosphere.(Indeed, there were 2 security guards on duty when I arrived) Parts of the building facade are crumbling away and that’s simply unacceptable for a nationally known brand name that cares about its reputation. Bottom line-Don’t be fooled by the name on the sign and the suspiciously low price. This property should be an embarrassment to Wyndham, but they apparently never stay here.A much better value is the El Rancho, just up the street. It’s old, but it has some character and doesn’t pretend to be anything that its not. This place is going to make me take a much more skeptical look at Wyndham properties in the future if this location meets their standards.
The hotel is very old and worn. I can look past that, but electronic safety doors have been disabled. Also, it's a very strange set-up. Your room looks out into an enclosed courtyard. So, if you want ANY privacy, you have to keep the curtains closed. This makes it more like a cell than a room.

The check in was quick and I was excited at first because the inside looked good, but when I went to look for my room, it was hard for me to find my room because the lights were off in the hallway. There were tapping noises all over. I understand that there’s maintenance going on, but I don’t know what that tapping noise was, but it sure did kept me up. There’s no vents in the bathroom, and it stunk all the time, you can hear the next two door giggles and conversations. I’ve read some good experiences in this place, but honestly this is probably by far the worst hotel experience I’ve had.
This place is a dump. Ghetto place with ghetto people that run it. Stay clear of this place.
