We are driving from Arizona to Illinois, and staying in Gallup for the first time. Denny's is next door to our hotel, so while my husband stayed in our room with our dogs, I walked over to Denny's this afternoon, and I'm so glad I did. My order was taken immediately by a very kind and polite waiter. Six minutes later, the most delicious strawberry French toast arrived. I loved it!!!

Public enemy

Waiter wasn't even wearing a name-tag, I assume so we wouldn't be able to name her in a review like other people have, but the restaurant wasn't even 30% full and still took over an hour to get our food, despite there being practically nobody, had chocolate chip pancakes and was brought blueberry pancakes with the chocolate toppings which paired horridly, eggs came out ice cold and never even got a refill, to my surprise the restrooms were pretty good so hats off to whoever they got in charge of cleaning them

This is a painful review... but it is truthful.I knew they were having problems when the manager had to stop working in the kitchen to show me to my seat.The restaurant was not that busy but they were struggling to keep up with the orders. The waitresses were all standing around the computer and I could hear them talking to the cook, and the manager working in the kitchen. I kept hearing this customer and that customer had been waiting a long time as they hovered around the computer screen.My burger was delicious and the manager was so busy being a cook... nobody was managing the business. Waiting a long time is one thing but my waitress simply vanished. My drink sat empty for what seemed like forever. Tick Tock Tick Tock....So is the manager to blame because he was busting his butt?.... but my waitress virtually ignored me while all the other waitresses were hustling. The other waitresses kept looking at me, but I was not at their table. My server did not have a name tag, she was nice... but horrible at her job.Was it the staffing? Did a cook not show up? I do not know the answer but as a person paying... I do not care.I like Dennys and will continue to eat at other locations... but this experience was subpar.
