I went here on a Saturday during Hatch chile festival. I am writing this review more for the owner/mgmt. The food tasted amazing. The service was slow and chaotic. 10 minutes to get drinks ordered, 15 minutes to order food. Luckily the woman at the next table spoke loudly to the server to take our order. No chips, no salsa, food took more than 45 minutes to get. Cielo,mar, tierra molcajete came out. There were no shrimp. Pastor tacos are served with nothing but a lime and old cup of chopped onions. No cilantro, no cabbage. I wish server would have told us they were out of so many things. I was still charged full price even without shrimp. The kicker was at the end. The server (male) took our molcajete away and our drinks, told us to pay at the register (he told us 3 times) while we were there. Even before food came out. Anyway, he told us again to pay up front, and “we are closing so do as you will with that. It was 7:49 pm. Kicking us out after we waited so long for everything. Absolutely rude! The wait staff need serious training. They failed to inform us about anything being out of stock until asked about it. They don’t communicate with each other on who is serving who. Servers are wasting their time with this chaotic serving style.

The food is good. The service was horrible. We placed our drink and food order and had to ask the server for our drinks cause she never brought them. She dropped off our food and never checked on us but all the tables around did get better service. It’s not worth a second time.

Great food made when you order it, the Waitresses were friendly and attentive ! I had the Chile Relleno plate, both the Red and Green Chile that come with it are fresh and delicious, but not for the faint of heart(Really Hot, in a really good way!) Likewise the salsa that comes with the complimentary chips is worth going for by itself. All in all you get every bit of what you pay for here at Molcajetes!

The food here is phenomenal do yourself a favor if you’re in town visiting las cruces and come up here. The food is 10 times better than last cruces and half the price. This family owned restaurant makes some seriously good food.

The food was delicious and service was spot on. There 3 of us and we all ordered differently. Everything was very tasty and well done. We didnt get one of the signature Molcajete items and I admit, i was jealous when I saw them being served. I would definitely recommend, just based on sight, their signature dishes.
I do wish to apologize to the employees here, as my Spanish has never been up to par and due to IED's in Iraq my brain has never been the same. It will definitely be a help if you speak Spanish, but it doesn't seem to be a requirement.

This is a true little hole in the wall. Horchata was nice and creamy, lemon and pepino agua fresca nice and refreshing. We got the green chile burger-great tasting meat and it had a kick to it! Tacos de asada-great tasting meat with amazing salsas, and red chilaquiles-spicey! Price was great and service was good. Definitely worth the stop if you make a stop in hatch

Grabbed a burrito for the road. Ingredients tasted amazingly fresh and vibrant. Staff was very friendly. Very affordable prices. Very spicy chile even for Hatch. I wish I lived here so I could come back more frequently.
Fantastic experience - friendly service and the molcajete with steak and chicken was out of this world.

We ended up in hatch on Easter! Mmolcajetes was the only place open! The food was wonderful. The staff was friendly and great. We were asked several times if we needed anything and was everything ok. And the place was clean. We'll definitely be back.
