One of the best meals I’ve ever had in my life. The chile con carne verde was so much lighter than Sonoran style, with rich pieces of chile. The relleno was awesome, but need to order with sauce. Even just the salsa that comes with the chips was incredible. Great flavor and a zinger of heat on the end. I will. It forget you, Chope. Great service. Great atmosphere
Chope’s Bar & Cafe is a must-stop if you’re anywhere near La Mesa. The food is classic New Mexican comfort food done right — hearty portions, bold flavors, and everything comes out hot and fresh. The chile is rich and flavorful without being overpowering, and the plates are generously loaded.

Love the bar been going for years. However if you sit at a table for drinks not food don't expect the servers to come help and dora particularly hates being called by customers for service. Hopefully we get the other servers next time.
