Applebee's Grill + Bar

We went here in February. We walked in, no one there to greet us. So finally we sat ourselves. A server came over so I asked for water and menus. She said this section is closed. OK, so we moved to the bar area. We ordered fish and chips, since I'd had them at an Applebee's in Tucson and they were great. These were not. Very little fish inside, limp cold fries. No one asked how things were so I asked for the manager.
Since we were finished eating I wasn't asking for new food. Just wanted him to be aware how bad the food was. Not sure he was interested.

The blackened Cajun salmon was over seasoned and the mashed potatoes had a strange flavor. The broccoli wasn't seasoned at all or much. I thought maybe it was just me so I took it home and tried it again later. It went into the trash. We were never offered refills on our beverages. The beer and wine lists were unappealing.

Most folks would probably be surprised or even disagree with my ratings. But let me explain.
I came in for lunch and ordered a simple hamburger and onion rings.
I waited 45 minutes for my food to arrive and only after I went and found my waiter, I explained that I had meetings I was going to be late for to ask how much longer it would be. My waitress explained that the onion rings were the hang-up. Shortly after, my food arrived.
Obviously, the onion rings were the issue because they were very hot and fresh. My hamburger, on the other hand, was very cold, and it seemed like it had sat for some time.
As I was eating, the manager on duty came and said he was very sorry that it took so long to get my food and that the meal was on him and not to worry about paying.
I finished my food quickly and left, leaving 15 dollars behind on the table. I was very surprised that someone would not only apologize but also take full responsibility for what happened.
I also know how little the waitresses make and that every tip goes a long way.
This is my reasoning for this rateing!

Food is okay. Carside/carryout service....not so much! The Starbucks next door often results in the blocking of Applebee's east side parking where the Carside/carryout parking is. Manager doesn't seem to care and said it's not his problem. Well...yes it IS his problem when it affects the business he manages!

Parking: The east side parking and Carside pick up area are often blocked by the driveup lane traffic for the next door Starbucks.

The few times I've been here, the food was delicious and super reasonably priced. Service was good. No complaints! This place slaps. Great for date night or just a casual outing with friends !

Service & food generally good. Beer is cold! Sometimes it takes too long to get the game put on the TV. After game or when there is no game they often play head knocking hip hop or rap way too loud or real trashy language where you can barely talk to your neighbor. I usually leave when that happens as do others.. We miss the oldies or 70s,v80, or 90s rock or rock or alt rock videos like they used to play. Many in there have told me the same thing.
Keep up the beer specials and food specials please.

Parking: Usually plenty of parking however going out or in from the back you always have to deal with huge potholes always which wreck your car. Who's responsible????
Also I go.less.lately because there are the same beggers almost every time on the sidewalk by the front door. They have a big black dog who lunged at me, growling last time I went. Could be a liability or keep people away.

Suzanne The Manager Rocks. Every time we are here she is amazing and attentive. She is always helpful and respectful. Great family restaurant. Half price appetizers after 9pm. Food is always on point.

Don't recommend this place I'm from California and we have better service then this place and the place smells bad.
