We stopped in for dinner after seeing a show at NMSU. We were skeptical due to the mixed reviews. We had a wonderful experience from start to finish. Our server, Desiree, went above and beyond to provide the best service. We felt so comfortable we ended up sitting and chatting long after we finished our meals. Our meals were prepared quickly and exactly to our specifications. Everything was very flavorful. We will definitely return!

The food has the potential to be excellent, but many dishes we have ordered arrive at the table with the meat or fish raw and have to be sent back for more cooking.
The ingredients seem to be high quality, the chef just needs to take his/her time and get it right.
The servers are mostly well trained and professional.
The atmosphere could be nice, but typically it is too cold to enjoy a meal; it is like being seated in a walk in fridge.

I recently had a rather disappointing dining experience that I’d like to share. I ordered a salad called the Chicharón, expecting something decent. However, when the waitress took my order, I couldn't help but notice her sarcastic tone throughout our conversation. When I asked her how long she had been working there, she replied, "Three years," with a hint of sarcasm that made me raise an eyebrow.
Curious about the dressings available beyond the blue cheese, I inquired about my options, only to have her pointedly suggest ranch. After a lengthy wait, I finally received my salad and was shocked by what had been delivered. I paid $13 for a dish that looked like an afterthought—essentially a chopped cabbage cut into quarters, accompanied by a lonely cherry there's a lot.tomato and just two tablespoons of ranch dressing on the side. To top it off, they had added a handful of pork rinds that looked like they came straight from a bag, rather than being a notable component of the dish.
On my receipt, they referred to this creation as a wedge salad, which I found amusing, considering it certainly didn’t meet my expectations for a salad. The menu described it as a Chicharón salad in beautiful cursive, which initially made me think, "Okay, this sounds decent." When I asked the waitress if the pork was fried, she confirmed with a half-hearted "Yes, it definitely is."
Honestly, I wouldn’t even categorize this as a salad; it felt more like a makeshift dish in a wannabe culinary setting. I couldn’t help but wonder, “What is this?” The overall experience left much to be desired, and I walked away questioning my life choices. To be frank, the front desk did mention they were going to refund me, so I suppose that’s a small silver lining in an otherwise frustrating experience.t. Yeah they'll charge you for items you didn't order. Got an $8 glass of brandy, they didn't know how to charge it, so naturally they upcharge it to Jim Beam well drink instead. After I had to chase the waitress down to get a bill and leave. Just not worth it.

This place is decorated so modern and chic! Love it. Great selection of cocktails and food. We had pesto linguini with chicken and sea bass. A wedge salad first was large and tasty. We indulged in spritzes and martinis from the bar. Wonderful service, delicious food and drinks and a beautiful setting. Terrific!
Going to chime in here to try and combat some of the unworded, negative reviews.
This place.
Man. It's like a beacon amongst fast food chains, and so-so mom and pop shops.
Don't get me wrong, some of the best food I've had has been at hole in the wall joints.
But when it comes to finer dining, this place is it.
The chefs menu is seasonal, which is key to keeping things fresh for customers.
My wife and I came back several times to try everything on the past menu and are excited to come in and try the new one.
I've yet to have a bad meal or cocktail here. This place is phenomenal.

The chef and his kitchen team at MEZCLA currated the most amazing meals. The fillet, seabass, chicken appetizers and dessert were top notch in flavor and presentation. Our server Jaime was personalble and attentive. The house crafted coctails were delicious. We will be back to enjoy the rotating menu.
Had a perfect light dinner sharing the excellent charcuterie board and each having a salad. My Harvest salad was delicious, baby arugula, goat cheese, tiny butternut squash dice, grapes and toasted pecans was outstanding. My husband had the Caesar with crisp romaine and just the right amount of dressing. Our server was so nice and pleasant, she was attentive without hovering and we shared a laugh about the cheese assortment on the charcuterie board. we had a lovely evening.
It annoys me that most reviews here are for the old bar scene or whiney people who don’t know a good meal from bad, or what a meal of this quality should cost. The food is excellent. The service (Moses) and bar tender (Jaimie) are great and really know their stuff. The pork chops are exceptional and uniquely delicious. Jaimie’s classic Gimlet will take you to school on “old school” classics. It’s white linen quality, in a classic NM establishment.

Great food not their best service night but mgt only had 1-2 servers working for a Saturday night. Have been several times with a good experience this was first less than stellar. Still, usually a fine place for a good meal
Nice restaurant where the food presentation was superb and delicious. They actually brought food out in courses like they should. You didn't feel rushed. The ambience was quiet and a place where you can actually dress up. The service was nice and friendly.
Just a wonderful addition to the already fabulous vibe at El Encanto.

Mezcla has become my favorite restaurant in Las Cruces. It's beautiful inside, the food is always wonderfully prepared and presented, and their cocktails delicious. We also enjoy taking friends there when they come into town because we know it will always be an experience for them. The only thing that would make even more special is have a pianist there playing their beautiful piano. They never use the grand piano and It would be a way to hire University students who need a place to have as a side job. So, Mezcla, please use your beautiful piano!
No salad offered wit dinner or rolls. Waitress inexperienced and was the only one . Shortage of prepared rolls of silverware. Photo on website showed tablecloths on all tables we had none
