Is this restaurant real? They cancelled my order like 30 min after I order from DoorDash last 2 times.

I decided to go take a chance on Catrina Tacos tonight and I really loved it. The birria and carne asada tacos were amazing! I also got rice, beans, guacamole , and a strawberry in cream dessert. Everything tasted great and was authentic! I was very pleased and will be a repeat customer! Good job to the owners! Thank you!!!

I have a love-hate relationship with this restaurant. On the one hand, I admire the owners' hustle and drive to make their culinary dreams a reality. On the other hand, their inconsistent hours and spotty service have sometimes frustrated me.Let's start with the logistics - the restaurant's posted hours seem more of a suggestion than a hard and fast rule. Attempting to call ahead is futile, as the number listed sends you to voice mail. This lack of reliable communication is undoubtedly frustrating for customers looking to plan their dining experience.Moving on to the food, my first visit left much to be desired. My first visit started on a sour note. I ordered the birria quesadilla and carne asada burrito but was dismayed to find no consomé served alongside the quesadilla - a cardinal sin in my book. The meat-to-cheese ratio also felt off, with the cheese overpowering the flavor of the birria. The balance of ingredients also seemed off, with the cheese overpowering the birria flavor. As for the burrito, the strong presence of onions permeated each bite, leaving an unpleasant lingering aroma. However, the quality of the meat itself was pretty good in both dishes - very tender and flavorful. My subsequent visit provided a glimmer of hope. Deciding to stick to the taco offerings, I was pleased that the previously detected flavors could shine more prominently. The tenderness of the meat was a redeeming quality, though the birria tacos' portion size could still use some refinement. All in all, this place has its hits and misses. I can not vouch for the full breadth of their menu, but the tacos are a solid option. I will likely return to explore further, but their service and consistency remain a bit of a wild card. If they iron out those kinks, this could be a real neighborhood gem. The restaurant's commitment to its craft is admirable.

We had the pleasure to have their menudo, their birria tacos, the asada tacos and the asada nachos! Their food was amazing! One of my favorite foods is menudo, and let me tell you, this menudo was delicious! It was clean, flavorful, spicy and full of meat! I highly recommend Catrina Tacos & Grill, hit them up, you won't regret it and remember to always support your local businesses and young entrepreneurs!

Excellent tacos and very friendly, great service. Our waitress took time to explain the menu items to us ( we are from Wisconsin ?. We had the enchiladas with cheese and red sauce and the taco combination platter. Both were delicious. We loved the Alhambra taco with beef and peppers. The Al Pastor was also so delicious. The salsas were spicy and delicious. The ambiance was cool with Dia De Los Muertos decorations. This was a gas station, do not let that stop you from eating here!!

OMG-this whole in the wall restraint in an old gas station is AMAZING. All the food is authentic Mexican (NOT Telmex, Not New Mexico style, authentic Mexican from Michoacán Mexico). The Tacos Carnitas and the torta alsado where absolutely delicious and enourmouse (and extremely well priced). A wonderful stop.

This is an amazing, family owned, true Mexican restaurant! My boys also love their food and they are ages 8,6,&2. I eat it so fast I don’t have time to get a picture! ?? We are here multiple times. It’s a hidden gem right off of Hwy 70. I recommend the sampler platter if you’ve never eaten there.

Off the highway on the way to White Sands National Monument you won't want to miss Taqueria Las Catrinas. The friendly gracious owners Eli and Paloma told me they modeled it after Paloma's family restaurant in Michoacan. They wouldn't tell me how they make their magic, but the salsas, the meats and the hand made to order tacos are scrumptious. We were lucky enough to be there when they had face painting. Eli told me they have mariachis sometimes (pre-COVID?). It's a sit down restaurant (just opened up again with limited seating since COVID), but they do great take out too. They make genuine al pastor tacos on a rotating spit grill, sirloin tacos, flautas and quesadillas. They even have a Keto taco without the fresh tortilla (they make the shell out of grilled cheese somehow). I don't know if it's that I'm used to California or tourist prices, but I couldn't believe how cheap it was too. It cost less than 2 or 3 bucks each and you get a hand made fresh preservative free tortilla! As far as COVID goes, the staff all wears masks and I saw them changing gloves frequently. They pack curbside food separately to keep it fresh too. (we were there in November, which is when they had face painting, which is when we took the photos we submitted here so no masks). It was so good, I got the Taquiza (?) order to go. It's the fixings for some 20 tacos! I flew home with it from El Paso to bring into work the next day for all my staff.
