My family and I had the best service and food at El Sombrero. A big shout out to Marin. She's the best waitress we've ever had there. Friendly quick and suggested things we would like. Plus quick on the refills. The absolute best service from her. Thank you! She made out time lovely. Plus the ground beef taco plate is the best in town. The salsa is delicious too.

It’s actually a nice little restaurant with patio seating. Friendly & prompt service is always a plus. We looked at and asked a few questions. My wished her Chimichanga and melted cheese inside to compliment the Beef which she liked. She also wished they heated and melted the shredded cheese on top the Chimichanga, Beans & Rice…while warm they never melted the cheese. I had the Chicken Fandito plate, while made different than what I’m used I thought it all good and tasty. My only complaint is they don’t offer/have any hotter salsa or bottled hot sauce…I thought was kinda out of the ordinary for a Mexican Restaurant. All in all it was good and well try more next time passing through Las Cruces
This restaurant was not good at all.I order enchiladas and they made it with nacho cheese.I do not remember it being like this at all. Will not be coming back.

Expensive
Since when is green Chile sauce orange?? Ordered it on the side for my rellenos. The rellenos were tasteless and the orange green chile sauce tasted like the canned nacho cheese sauce. All for $15.50. Won’t be returning.
Cute restaurant. We were passing through town and it was recommended by friends. Friendly staff and great was t food. The food came out quickly and was great. The salsa was pretty spicy. Make sure they bring the food water before you dip a big scoop.
I am originally from Las Cruces, and this has always been a favorite place when I come back home to visit, but since I have been back this time, the food has been very average, and on this occasion it was actually terrible. I got the green enchilada plate with rice and beans. The enchilada was smothered in cheese, and the enchilada sauce was this bright yellow color. It tasted like Campbell's cream of chicken soup with cheese on it, and the rice was awful. Not to mention, the grease needed to be changed for the tostada chips. Needless to say, this will no longer be a favorite place. and I don't know if I will return. Staff was wonderful, but the food quality has declined significantly.
Great place to eat Mexican food and service.
