Nice small winery. Owners so friendly ?Gewurztraminer was my favorite.
Me and my wife stopped here with very little knowledge about wine and they were so very nice to us and informative. Delicious wine! We got the Shiraz wine.
Wonderful small family winery!!!
Fort Selden Winery is a small winery, but a great place to taste some deliciously bold and unique wines. It's well worth the visit!

I grew up in New Mexico and never knew about this hidden gem. Just found it in passing one day. The owners are the sweetest people and make really great wine! You can’t go wrong with a stop at Fort Seldon Winery.
First off we were not able to taste the wine or tour the property, so this review is strictly based on service we did not receive. We walked over from Leasburg Dam State Park and therefore did not have a car with us. When we walked onto the property the gate was open and 2 dogs inside a smaller enclosure started barking. A man appeared on the sidewalk from the “tasting room” and headed straight for the house. He did not acknowledge us in any way. We followed signs to a building marked as the tasting room The man came down the sidewalk a short time later and said he would unlock the door. As he did so I said thank you to him and walked into the room. He did not respond at all and proceeded to wipe at a counter and pick up chip packages that were left there. My husband and I stood at the counter for a few moments expecting to be asked if we wanted a tour or a taste or a price list or anything. He ignored us so we sort of wandered around a little then my husband asked him about the grapes they grow. He said they do mostly red and obviously knew we had very little knowledge of wines and grapes. We went to this small winery because we don’t know wine and thought we could be educated somewhat. This man asked us nothing, told us nothing, showed us nothing and didn’t even try to sell us anything. After a few minutes an older couple drove up in a Cadillac, came in the door and stepped directly in front of my husband and sat down at the counter. The man immediately asked them how they were and if they had ever been there before. Talk about snobs!!! Unfortunately for us we may never again visit a winery or vineyard in hopes of learning about wine and wine production. I’m not sure what this man thought we were but he sure didn’t want to serve us. Poo on your establishment for such biased and unfriendly service.
What a unique gem in Las Cruces! I heard about this winery from a friend who raved about their wine. After visiting Slot Canyon, we stopped in mainly out of curiosity. What a treat! The wine was surprisingly delicious, and the couple Desiree & Franklin, who own and run the winery (and who, incidentally, grow all the grapes organically used in the wine),, were lovely to talk with. They were very knowledgeable and very friendly. I’m sure we overstayed our welcome. We did their $5 wine tasting and were all so impressed, we subsequently, between the three of us, bought eight bottles of wine! Highly recommended!

Great folks. Good selection. Loved the Rose'. Wish them well in the new year.
Have visited Ft Selden many times. Always a warm welcome from Franklin and Desiree. Had the opportunity with my wife to pick grape for 2021 harvest. What fun and again great host and hostess. Highly recommend that everyone come by to taste the wines and meet Franklin and Desiree. You will not be disappointed.

My husband and I stopped at this wonderful little winery today. What a gem! The owners Desiree and Franklin shared not only information on the grapes and winemaking art, but personal stories of coming to New Mexico from Holland. Such a joy to meet them! And the wine is delicious! We treated ourselves to a few bottles. A must stop if you are in the Las Cruces area!
Personable, knowledgeable and friendly owners. A small mom and pop business. They grow their own grapes and make and bottle their own wine. It is delicious! And can only be purchased from them. A definite "must stop" if you are in the Las Cruces area!
