I had been there before and enjoyed the experience, not this time, food was cold, with no apology from the chef, most that we wanted wasn’t available, even from the wine list. And it was not even busy when we arrived. I took visitors and was very embarrassed. Will not return. Very disappointing.

Patron breakfast was amazing. The red sauce was just the right level of spiciness.

Came here for lunch with me and my family. We’re driving through town from a road trip from Texas.
My husband and I shared the enmolada with the mole negro. It was so delicious!
My daughter got a wrap and my other daughter got Chiles nogada. The Chiles
Nogada was too sweet for my daughter’s preference but it was beautiful.
We would totally go back if we drive back through Las Cruces. Thank you for the delicious lunch!

This is a very nice place, with interesting regional Mexican food. I like it because of the great variety in the menu. It's not just enchiladas and burritos, they have mole entrees and seafood. Also, there are some vegetarian meals on the menu.

Large part of the menu was not available. Some of the food came to our table warm some came cold. Actually didn’t taste that great. And definitely not enough Staff to wait the tables. Very disappointed.

What a gem. Relaxing ambiance accompanied by an imaginative menu to take you out of the ordinary here in Cruces. If I’m not mistaken, the menu has expanded and it was executed magnificently. We are looking forward to returning

OMG WOW!! I'm a Californian.. who cooks and knows mexican food well. AZ sucks. TX doesn't count as mexican food. But this place?!? I'm blessed to find it.
We got mole and enchiladas. Bursting with flavor, tender wood fired meat. Staff is very friendly and welcoming.
I'm coming back EVERYTIME we pass through NM.

Very nice place. I loved the atmosphere and most of all the food from the very first time. My wife and I visited Paisano Cafe.

Really excellent, different food. Our favorites on the menu are "The Fish" with the chipotle cream sauce, chiles en nogada, chicken enmoladas with the poblano mole and the amazing tres leches cake.
Service is enthusiastic although not particularly professional, decorations are mostly a bit weirdly French, music is annoying (from a radio station with talking and ads and all).
This is one of the better eateries in town.
One of the best restaurants for breakfast, brunch or dinner

Wonderful! The food was delicious and the service was great. Good prices.
We were served promptly by a charming waitress who came by several times to make sure everything was as we wanted.

Can’t understand how Paisano’s has managed to get this many good reviews.
We were one of three tables in the whole place. When the waitress came to take our order, she didn’t tell us her name, wrote our order down on a crumpled scrap of paper, and only had one of the things we tried to order.
Service was very slow, took a long time to be brought water/chips and salsa, and while we were waiting we noticed that the place wasn’t clean, the salt shakers on the table were almost empty, and the painting on the wall next to us was covered in dust.
The customers across from us got their food before us, and I could hear that there was a problem with their order—our waitress had brought them one of our entrees instead. She took it back to the kitchen, then came over to us with just my entree, which was lukewarm at that point. She didn’t mention what had happened, and I had my plate for about 10 minutes before the second entree arrived (at which point I had already started eating, because there was no indication that the food would arrive in time for us to eat together).
On top of all these problems with the service and the kitchen, the food was just ok. We had each ordered enmoladas and were excited to try the different kinds of mole, but felt disappointed. The rice served on the side was especially bad, and seemed like it might have been some kind of instant rice instead of made in house.
The bill was cheap (about $10/person), but I guess you get what you pay for. I’m a waitress myself, and have worked in restaurants for years, and so tipped well, mostly out of pity. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place—we regret not walking out.
This place is known for their mole (chocolate sauce for people who never had mole). There are four versions offered. My husband had the first one on the list. I ordered the one with fruit. Both were very tasty. We've eaten mole in other places before.
Now for the con's. The chicken breast was way overcooked. It was so dry and tough that I could barely cut it with the knife. Why didn't I sent it back? Because it took over 45 minutes for the food to be served. And the restaurant wasn't even busy. I didn't want to wait anymore.
The side dishes of rice and black beans taste good but were very small portions.
The staff was friendly but not great as waiters. She didn't return to ask if everything was OK, nor refilled our water.
Not sure if I would return. I might give them a second try. I will know to tell them not to overcook the chicken.
Also, no free chips and salsa served.

The service was very bad . As soon that we sat down the waitress right away said to hurry up and order because they were going to be closing. We arrived around 1:30 pm which was still plenty if time to order. Everything that we tried to order the waitress kept saying that they didn't have. We were told that there was no meats available. We ended up ordering stuff that we were not like. Will not be going again.
