Picacho Coffee Roasters is one of those spots that immediately feels thoughtful and well put together without trying too hard.

The space is huge—couches, communal tables, and plenty of room to settle in whether you’re working, meeting up, or just hanging out. It genuinely functions as a co-working space, which is rare to see executed this well in a coffee shop. There’s a lot happening here in the best way: they sell records, infused coffee beans, merch, and even fresh sourdough loaves, giving the place a curated, community-driven vibe.

The music sealed the deal—hip-hop with strong Common / A Tribe Called Quest energy—setting a relaxed, soulful tone that makes you want to stay awhile.

Coffee-wise, I ordered the matcha with oat milk and it was smooth, balanced, and not overly sweet. Quality clearly matters here. Service was another standout: warm, welcoming, and genuinely friendly without feeling forced.

They also have a bakery case with assorted items (note for fellow vegans: bakery items are not vegan), though the drink options themselves are still accommodating.

Overall, Picacho Coffee Roasters is a great spot for quality coffee, good music, and a space that actually invites you to linger. I’ll definitely be back.

I come here every time I am in Las Cruces. A few weeks ago I was excited to drive through and show my bf this place. We had been up since 3am driving to El paso and back to Albuquerque. We stopped here around 11am on a Monday. When we walked in I felt like I walked into someone's house uninvited. No greeting and every person who was working (only like 3 or 4 including the guy roasting beans) gave us both so wicked side eyes. My latter was ok but the girl who made seemed annoyed the entire time making it. I used to work as a barista. I absolutely despise the pretentious too bothered attitude when my coffee is being made. I'll stick to buying the beans at whole foods and may skip the in person stop next time I pass through Cruces.

Delivers the best coffee and experience. I personally use only their Espresso beans in my high end coffee espresso machine.

Trying local coffee locations during a road trip is a priority for this family and this spot is our new go-to in Las Cruces. Don't let the train tracks dismay you from finding this gem! I noticed as I drove up the roof top vent emitting smoke and excitedly rolled down the car windows to enjoy the aroma of freshly roasted beans. I'm used to tiny trailers converted into a coffee stand, not roasted in house. We went twice this visit and will go again next time!

Had coffee and a couple of cookies about 2 weeks ago. The drinks were great as were the homemade cookies. This is a fantastic out of the way place to relax. Also bought some merch. Will be back the next time we’re in Cruces!

Very good, high quality coffee. The seating area isn't huge but nonetheless a good place to sit and have a drink.

Flavorful coffee. I ordered a latte with pecan milk and it was incredible. My husband ordered the horchata cold brew, which he said was flavorful and not overly sweet.
We also had the avocado toast and a slice of onion bread, both were excellent. Staff was accommodating and restrooms were clean. If you're thinking of stopping to get some delicious coffee this place is a definitive must.

Great coffee, environment, and staff. Currently drinking their Horchata Cold Brew and it's awesome. I hope it stays on the menu and/or gets bottled!

How do you not have chai at a coffee shop? Asked for a hot drink and they gave me an iced drink. I guess I didn't fit their vibe?

I live in MA and experience coffee roasters all over the US. Picacho is hands down one of the best roasters in America that I’ve experienced. The beans are always roasted fresh prior to shipping and the prices, while not cheap, offer tremendous value for the quality of bean and roast. I highly recommend the coffee from Picacho.
