Good coffee for a reasonable price. No cold brew, but the iced coffee is good. 50 cent surcharge for non-dairy milks. They had one vegan baked good option, not a whole lot else on the menu it seemed for vegans. Staff were very nice. Space was large and open with additional shaded seating outside.

Vegetarian options: One vegan baked good. Surcharge for all non-dairy milks

Its 2023 and this is not the same Spirit Winds. Its not the one that sold knick knacks and clothing along with decent coffee. Its changed into just a cafe with no real appeal. Also, the person at the counter said its due to be reinvented yet again into a tap room with various craft beer.

This is not the Spirit Winds of the past. The atmosphere is GONE. "New management," the employee said. They are attempting to maximize coffee table spaces, at the expense of the ambience and display of local artists. However, they were out of coffee! The future holds wine and beer service.

I went because of the good reviews, but their menu is super limited, their furniture is super old, and their food is super simple… Plus, there’s a smell of humidity all over the

Had not visited since new ownership, sad to see the gift shop gone. Especially loved the card selection just a plain ole coffee shop

Beware the old reviews - this is not the same place it was!I just gave this café another try, hoping it had gotten better. No, it was worse. This was our experience:Ordered a chicken club sandwich for $12, a turkey and cheddar sandwich for $10, an iced chai for $4, and an unsweet tea. But the server tells me they only have two flavors of tea, and he "thinks" they are both sweetened. I ask for ice water, he gestures to a jug of water (without ice) where I can fill up a cup. I pay for the order, plus add a small-ish tip. Made the mistake of saying I didn't need my receipt. As we make our way to our seats, he comes up and says they are out of chicken, but they can make it with turkey. Fine. He comes back and asks us if we want pasta or chips with our sandwiches, we select pasta-- which I clarify is a cold pasta salad. When the other server brings our food, there's no bacon on the club sandwich, which comes with bacon. I get up, ask the original server about the bacon. He *then* informs me that they are out of bacon! I said, "But I paid for bacon." "No you didn't," he says. Straight up tries to fabricate a story, ends up babbling gibberish and walks away.I can't prove it, right, because I don't have a receipt. But I know he rang me up for the $12 chicken club sandwich when I ordered it, and now I am having a $10 turkey and cheddar sandwich. The food was fine, but unremarkable. They only have four sandwiches on the menu, two of which they cannot serve as advertised because they are out of the main ingredients. There's a very nice grocery store literally across the street-- go buy some bacon. The iced chai was bland and watery. The pasta salad was basic. The atmosphere isn't; as in there is no atmosphere. It is a large, empty room with some table and chairs. You can see by the photo that the place was completely empty at 1:30 on a Sunday afternoon, when other places in the same area have generous crowds. There's a reason for this.I rarely write poor reviews-- for the most part I just don't bother writing them. But this is so disappointing partly because it used to be great little breakfast and lunch spot, as well as a cute and unique gift shop. I'm sure the owners are tired of the comparisons, but sheesh, it's hard to avoid. This place is just nothing now. Heed the empty room-- don't bother.

New ownership has ruined the place. Firstly, take note the gift shop has been removed. More importantly though, they’ve completely ruined the design. This place used to have a design that was first rate, making special and unique. Now it looks like a middle aged straight guy designed it using free furniture from his frat friends houses. Worse yet is the food has gone downhill, it seems like the ingredients are cheap and low quality. Sandwiches went from having sourdough or ciabatta style breads to literally wonder bread and great value cheese. Really disheartening to see a staple of the community turn into what is has.

Best iced coffee in town! Relaxing atmosphere, kind employees, and great muffins too.

Great coffee, okay pastry. No gift shop. Very much tailored for the "too cool for Starbucks" crowd. It's not my scene, but again, the coffee is terrific.

There are now tons of tables and chairs so that anyone can bring some work, home work or just a book and enjoy their drink and/or snack. The amount of open space in the cafe now is a million times better than all that kitschy bs that crowded the store.Staff are friendly, coffee is great and the Wi-Fi works. Definitely coming back here to do some studying in the mornings.

Wow what an experience. I came here after some challenging schoolwork, and only needed a snack. But boy did I get that and so much more. The barristas Britta and Adam made me feel like family as my was able to take a break from the studies. Thank you spirit winds for the experience! ?

This coffee house and cafe is literally absolutely marvelous. There folks are really friendly the coffee is def great . Haven't tried the foodies yet but it looks great as well. They also have a really eclectic array of random crafts and art and other crystal and rock and stone and beaded jewelry in display really cool art mural on the side the building is what originally caught my attention . And the name as well . Def recommend this cozy spot in Las Cruces university park area .
