Butter Smith Kitchen & Pies

My wife and I went yesterday afternoon for some lunch and pie. All was well until 2 hours later. My wife started to feel incredibly ill. Turns out whoever prepared her food, didn’t follow proper food handling protocol because she now is suffering from severe food poisoning from her enchiladas. Very disappointed and disgusted at the result of her meal

Full disclosure: we went on Thanksgiving because we were traveling through and very few places were open. We came in and were quickly seated, but due to a shortage of staff, the food and drinks took a long time to appear, even to the point where it seemed like my son’s waffle would never show up. They felt bad and made it up to him by giving him the full waffle at no extra charge! It is not easy working on Thanksgiving and we appreciate the kind thought by giving him the extra half.

Normally I really like the food at this place, but last visit the service was awful. Not very busy and still had to wave someone down for a refill, for a go box, and for the check.

Missing items but still charged- Ordered my food at 5:11pm when I got there at 5:30pm Food was not ready. When I finally got my food it was missing items. So I asked about them and waited. They brought out my soup but not hash browns that I was charged for. Bill was $30.35. It was getting late and I still had to go to work for my 12 hour shift. They told me it was going to be another 15 minutes. It was 5:50pm when I decided to just leave. When I got to my car in the parking lot. The waffle was raw and cold. Never come to Butter Smith during Dinner. They were turning people away with 40 minute wait times, they announced. they

Came into las cruces and found this little place. Excellent and fast service. The place is clean. The food was great. Everyone was so nice! Will definitely come back whenever we are in las cruces !

We had Caramel Iced Coffees, the Bananas Foster Pancake Combo, and the TX Chicken Fried Steak skillet.
They were all tasty, and the place was clean and cute. The service was slow, but the servers were nice.
We plan to go back for my wife's birthday, so I recommend Butter Smith Kitchen & Pies, as long as you are not in a hurry.
