It's always exciting having a new place to dine in this small town. We were happy to try Mango's. We ordered a couple burgers, the Gate 5 open faced roast beef sandwich (which I apparently forgot to take a photo of), and some mango habanero chicken wings. We started with some fried okra, always a great treat. The burgers were pretty basic but good. The sides though were what really stood out. One burger came with some house cut homecare French fries that were really good. The other burger came with their cucumber salad which had some other veggies and fresh dill in it. Also very good! My Gate 5 sandwich was tasty. A heaping pile of roast beef with a ton of horseradish sauce. It was good and filling. My side with that was the quinoa summer salad. It had quinoa, bell peppers, onion, cucumbers and feta. It was different and tasty. The mango habanero wings, which also comes with the house fries, stole the show here. The wings were perfectly cooked and their house mango habanero sauce was really delicious. How great to be able to get some good wings in this town on football Sundays! Overall, a good experience and nice addition to the dinning options in LA.Vegetarian options: Grilled cheese will be the only option other than the appetizers or sides.Kid-friendliness: No kids menu available

Mango's is the food service restaurant in the American Legion post in Los Alamos, NM. It is open to the public and offers burgers, wings, and fried sides. You can enjoy your food in the downstairs or upstairs bar if you choose. I have never been disappointed by anything I have ordered there; however, the lemon pepper wings and fried pickles are my favorite. It's a good old school American food kinda place and I definitely recommend it.
