I recently dined solo at Double Eagle Restaurant in Las Cruces, and it was truly a memorable experience from start to finish.
The historic building immediately sets the tone; classic New Mexico elegance with a refined, old-world steakhouse atmosphere that makes the evening feel special the moment you walk in. It’s dramatic, beautiful, and full of character.
What truly made the night exceptional, however, was my waiter, Christian. He was charismatic, attentive, incredibly knowledgeable about the wine list, and genuinely enjoyable to chat with throughout the evening. His service felt polished and effortless.
The highlight of the night was the tableside Crêpe Suzette made by Christian; easily one of the best I’ve had in a long while. Prepared with confidence and flair, it was both delicious and entertaining, the perfect finale to a wonderful meal.
Even among a few less-than-gracious diners, my experience remained outstanding thanks to the atmosphere and Christian’s impeccable hospitality. Exceptional service elevates a meal, and I personally had a wonderful time.

Road weary at Las Cruces, tired of typical options... our hotel gave 3 options... I went with the steakhouse... we located it on a street near the church in La Mesilla. What a pleasant Suprise! The food was delicious, ( my elderly father cleared his plate as did my mother and my self), the decor evocative of another time, and the Service was professionally kind and personable. Thank you, ma'am.

Very cool atmosphere but terrible food. I took a group here for a client dinner. The drinks were good and it is a beautiful building. The food was awful. They gave orders to the wrong people and all the steaks were way over cooked. I sent mine back and did not request a replacement. If you want to spend a lot of money on terrible food this is your spot. Do not eat here.

Horrible! If I could rate this restaurant a negative I would. Don’t waste your money or time here. From the food to the service it’s absolutely terrible. Will never go back.
Staff were very friendly. The experience overall was pretty good. Having your dishes cooked table side was cool and I really liked the food. I will definitely be going back. The atmosphere is very cool, I love the inside of the building.

Had excellent meals in a warm, classy atmosphere. Chateaubriand for two is excellent. Spouse enjoyed the wine and cocktail was good. Great place for a special occasion. Service was perfect.
My only issue is that I had a 7 pm reservation and I still had to wait quite a bit to be seated. They were very busy and it showed. Having said that, they handled it pretty well and the food was incredible.

I had a cobb salad; it was average.
Maybe if they actually grilled the chicken, instead of pre-made, cold, cut up, with no flavor, packaged chicken, then it would have been good. Also, homemade blue cheese dressing is better than bottled. It's not hard to make. All good restaurants should make their own dressing.
My husband had the prime rib with enchiladas on the side. He said it tasted good but was a little tough. He said he couldn't taste the aging of the steak, though.
Service was impeccable.
Atmosphere was delightful.
Margarita was amazing.

It’s been 20 yrs from my last time I went to the Double Eagle and what a disappointment. The only thing that was good were the margaritas and the pasta alfredo. The service was very slow, I order the all famous mesilla chicken, my husband the green chile enchiladas and both dishes were awful, the rice was probably 2 days old, the entire plate was cold. My niece ordered the bowl of potato soup and amount of soup was very little and didn’t taste good. The service was too slow took 40 mins to bring us the order 20 min for the drinks. Very dissapointed after we paid $168 dlls for bad service, bad food. I will never go to that restaurant ever.

I was very disappointed with the Double Eagle prime rib it was Gristly, Sinewy (full of tough, stringy connective tissue), lots of muscle fibers that don’t break down easily,
Rubbery, Awful! Regardless of how long their menu claims the steaks are marinated, a cheap steak just won’t cut it! What a ridiculous price to pay for a piece of connective tissue that you try to chew. I have paid 1/3 less for a much much better steak! Never again! The service was good.
