The only problem was a fly that stayed over our table. It was distracting and annoying. Our service was excellent.

Excellent service and food. Both the hostess and server wished us a happy anniversary. We also received a complimentary elaborate dessert. Wonderful experience!

Always nice to eat at Double Eagle, not sure if they were short staffed but it took about 20 minutes before we ordered drinks. Other than that, it's always a great dinner experience.

Atmosphere was lovely. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable but not always attentive. Food was delicious but our steaks (one medium rare, one medium) were oddly lukewarm when everything else was hot.

Absolutely love this restaurant which is why I chose it for my birthday dinner. Food is exceptional, service outstanding, ambience beautiful.

I'll just start by saying the best part of our experience was our server, Grant. He was very attentive, interactive with our group and just a pleasant person. Booked it for a pre-birthday dinner for my mom's birthday. We had 4 adults, 1 toddler and 1 infant. I made the reservation on OpenTable and it automatically offered me the Carlotta Private Room. It is out of sight of the main restaurant and is very secluded. It's a round room with old photos/paintings on the walls, some of the original furniture, and antique-y decor. The first impression was not how pretty it was, but how smelly it was. It smelled musty and damp in there. I get that it's old, but you can still get it and keep it smelling fresh! Anyway, they had some lavash and butter with what I think was paprika as an 'amuse bouche'. We ordered beverages and then our main dishes (which were accompanied by fresh dinner rolls). For myself, I got the Sea Bass (Branzino) which came with mille feuille potatoes and asparagus. For my toddler (since they do not have a kid's menu) and husband (who ate the lion's share of the meal), we got the 14 oz aged NY strip steak and twice-baked potato. The other adults said their food was "meh". My fish was overcooked and absolutely tasteless. I was so unbelievably disappointed. I have NEVER had to add salt to any fish dish made in a restaurant... this was a first. I had to add salt AND pepper, and still it left a lot to be desired. The mille feuille had been deep fried, such that instead of being a delicate masterpiece, it became a brick of deep-fried potato! I was not a fan. My husband was also underwhelmed with his steak. He said it tasted like they just cooked a naked steak - absolutely no seasoning. What really ground my gears is the number of times the restaurant staff mentioned "fine dining". Now I've been fortunate enough to enjoy fine dining in several different states, and the lack of seasoning, flavor and sanitation (the smell) is not it!

Our first time at Double Eagle and we were very happy. The wine list was extensive, the service was great and the food was expertly prepared. The steaks were amazing. Daniel took very good care of us with the right amount of touchpoints and provided some history of the building as well. Would definitely go back again to try additional dishes.

Double Eagle is a quiet elegant restaurant. The dining room is fashioned early 1900 motif with chandeliers, large mirrors and high ceilings. Our Manhattans were great. We ordered Cesar Salad, short rib plate and ribeye dinner. The Cesar salad is made at your table and was great. The short ribs were tender and tasty. The Ribeye steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare. The issue was that between our salad and the main meal we waited 40 minutes. We watched other tables order get their salads and dessert and pay and leave when our meal was finally brought to our table. I guess when you go to Double Eagle your server maybe be waiting on tables at the restaurant next to the Double Eagle, in our case, that is what occurred as our server chose to wait on two large parties. The server could have passed our table off to another server inside Double Eagle but chose to try to wait on the large parties and our table. Our bill was $200.00 for two diners. Management came to our table after our meal was served probably knowing that we were upset, not the time to apologize when we are trying to eat our meal.

We had a 6:30 p.m. reservation. We were not seated until 8:00 p.m. because their dining room was filled with people who walked in around 5:00 p.m. without reservations. I cannot understand how a restaurant with the reputation the Double Eagle has allow this to happen. They know the reservations they have after 5:00 p.m. and letting people walk-in without reservations should not happen. Once seated, we had very good service and very good food. But our experience should not happen again.

I'm not a big fan of eating game, but decided to try the Elk Osso Bucco. All was prepared very well, and the Elk was good, just not my favorite. The bison sausage appetizer was 10/10. Perfection. As always the service was top notch.

Our server Stephanie was wonderful as per usual! The kitchen was having some difficulties as we had to wait an inordinate amount of time to get our entre - much longer than usual. But the food was still delicious

If your wanting an elegant dinner, quality food, ambiance, not in a rush, this is your place.

Nice place and evening out. Not any others like it in Cruces (we wish there was more upscale restaurants to choose from). Food is hit and miss. Average at best. Could be a lot better for the price. Service in the restaurant is always good. Hostesses/greeters need improvement. A simile and enthusiasm would be appreciated.

We have eaten in the Carlotta room two times now and both experiences were wonderful! The noise level is very low and we were able to talk to and hear our companions, which is something very important to us as a couple of us wear hearing aids. Our server Grant was very personable and knowledgeable about the restaurant's history and the restaurant's food. He was attentive and made sure that we had a great meal and a good time. Grant made our Bananas Foster dessert table side and it was delicious. Alex was the other person who kept our water glasses filled and our empty plates were removed in a timely manner. We will definitely be back for another wonderful meal and overall great experience!
