I've been a resident of Mesilla for 50yrs, I'm not much of a drinker and only go out to a bar every 4-6 months or for special occasions. And it has been a really long time since I'd been to El Patio mainly because of the horrible treatment by one of the door guys that's usually there when I have gone. Then forget trying to get a drink in there if you don't know the bartenders or look like their type of crowd. They are plain rude and unfriendly no matter how nice or respectful you are towards them. I've gone with people before that know the bartenders very well and we have gotten excellent service. But I took a friend recently and we were completely ignored. And were told by the guy bartender or barback that they were not serving any more alcohol. Yet everyone around was still ordering drinks. So just a heads up to anyone thinking of trying this place for the first time I'd go elsewhere. The owner of this place should actually hire some decent bartenders with customer service skills and decent personalities. And either more bartenders to cover all their patrons or bartenders that don't get so overwhelmed by a busy bar. These girls there can't handle a packed or semi-packed bar without stressing out and taking it out on the customers.

Love pool. Love the beers. Hate to pay for songs and them be skipped. I know how the app works and I respect fast play. But for two songs in a row be skipped in the middle of them is irritating. Not tipping the bar tenders tonight.. 02/24/24. It’s about your people that are here to enjoy themselves after working 65 hrs in a week. Not all about the bar tenders.

9/15/2023 at 6:30pm me and my husband walked into the bar to have a drink and just relax and explore Mesilla we came into the bar and the Caucasian older male and his friends gave us the worse looks and attitude as if we didn’t belong. Thank goodness for the nice people walking in who offered to let us come in with their group but why should it have to be this way because of the color of our skin? We should be able to come and spend our money like everyone else! Nice bar but we won’t be back

This is the quintessential dive bar. You can see the history in the walls. You know what to expect. Burrito lady walking around with burritos was awesome late at night and quite tasty. Wish they had better tequila options, but hey...
