The food is always great, large portions at good prices. The restaurant is beautifully decorated. The staff are friendly and efficient. Love coming back every time.

Authentic Mexican restaurant. Went there on the second day of my Thanksgiving trip in New Mexico this year. The vibe is great with cute decos - and Christmas vibe is in the air!

This place is super cool and worth a visit but we thought the food was just okay and the margaritas we got (Monday mid day) were awful, I even ordered another shot to try and balance the lime juice out and it still didn’t cut it.

I can’t rate this place high enough every single thing is perfect from the historical building and story to the DELECTABLE dishes. Huge variety on the menu family friendly
They have wonderful fish tanks and large exotic birds so much to look at while you sit back and get the best service from the entire staff. The #1 spot for Southwest flavors. HIGHLY RECOMMEND 🌵🦖🌎❤️

Unique experience starting with great atmosphere. Food was good and they do have their own unique spin on New Mexico Mexican food. They have many options that include green chilis. Good variety on menu. Salsa was delicious. Chips are tasty and unique as well. A bit pricey but that seems to be the case when dining out these days.

This is our most favorite place in New Mexico. The chili con queso is the best. Chicken Quesadilla was excellent, as was the beef fajitas. Our usual stop when in Las Cruces.

My wife and I ate dinner on 11/29/25 around 8:20 PM. We were in Las Cruces, NM heading back to El Paso, TX when we decided to detour and eat at La Posta where we hadn’t eaten in years! The restaurant, eclectic decorations, parrots and decor are awesome, like none other. Unfortunately, our visit there was memorable, but not for the right reasons. My wife ordered a frozen margarita and I ordered a draft beer both taking about 15 minutes to receive despite place being somewhat empty. My beer was as cold as tap water from faucet (waitress said delay was bc she was waiting on bartender to change out beer keg 🤨) and my wife received her frozen La Postarita margarita on the rocks (ordered frozen) wrongly ordered by waitress. 🤨. Because it was 8:30 PM and they close at 9:30 PM, in the interest of time, we drank our drinks. Our food arrived in generous portions, but again, my wife’s order of beef flautas was wrong, they brought her chicken and weren’t even hot, room temperature, at best. My fajita plate was good except for the store-bought flour tortillas. I personally can’t eat them because of all the preservatives (expected homemade style), so I just ate the corn tortillas we previously received with our chili con queso appetizer (luke warm), which tasted good. The waitress told us more than once they had been really busy all day and things had just calmed down shortly before our arrival. We appreciate that the restaurant is a 100+ year nostalgic building that tons of people want to go to, but the kitchen staff and waitress’ attention to detail shouldn’t wane because it’s near closing time. 2 stars for service is for kitchen staff and waitress’ lack of attention but she was always very pleasant and attentive.

The staff and our margaritas were nice, but you'd have to be drunk to enjoy the food we were served. My tamales were dry, hard, and SO salty; basically inedible. The posole we shared was lacking in flavor. This was the most disappointing meal I've had out in a very long time.

At La Posta de Mesilla I had one of their most popular menu items, sour cream enchiladas. They were just ok. Service was good, and the restaurant has a nice atmosphere, parrots, a and jewelry store.

This place has been here a long time because it's the best ever. My husband's grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins have enjoyed meals here. We finally made it here. Best ever. Fresh chips, tasty salso, very good margarita on the rocks, a coco loco, chimichanga and crispy shredded beef tacos. Our server was pleasant. This place is a national culinary treasure!
