The chips and salsa, and Cubano sandwich was the best. Absolutely Delicious! If you don’t go to this place, you are missing out.

My sweetie and I hardly ever go out to eat in this town, we usually just cook at home. However, the Trading Post is a staple that draws us out regularly.
Great, well rounded menu, good prices, and such talented cooks in that kitchen! 🤌The food is always cooked to absolute perfection and the service is great! Shout out to the new server who was there tonight, you were awesome! And shoutout to the whole staff for always providing a great experience all around. Excellent place to go if you are having a shit day and need a pick me up🍔🌮 All will be well at the Trading Post.

P.s. 💌 Awesome selection of cookbooks to look through in the back dining area. And dont you forget to peep that dessert refrigerator before you go.

The wife and I were searching for a place to eat other than Mexican food which Taos has plenty of. We decided to try the Trading Post Market. It's a hole in the wall looking place from the outside. We've passed it a number of times never imagining it to be a restaurant. There isn't many alternative restaurants outside of Mexican food in Taos. Anyway, we arrived and to our surprise it's a cute spot once you're inside. Bigger than it seems from the outside. It's sort of divided between the bar side and the restaurant. They even have a back area with books and comfortable seating if you want to read or hangout with a glass of wine. Well we took a look at the menu. It's loaded with BBQ dishes, some New Mexico alternatives, sandwiches and even a pasta dish or two. I started with the chili stew soup. It was recommended to me by our server who was very nice and gracious. She mentioned the chef being an award winner 🏆. Hmmm, ok I'll try it. The chili stew soup was delicious! Best stew soup I've ever tasted. So flavorful, so delicious and filling. I had already ordered the BBQ brisket in Mac n Cheese dish. My wife chose the Mahi Mahi fish tacos. I can't begin to describe the delicious flavor from both dishes. This place rocks! Everything was better than good. My compliments to the chef. So, don't be put off by the outward appearance. Just step right in and order anything on the menu. They're friendly and waiting for you. They have beer 🍷 wine and cocktails. The food will overwhelm you. 5🌟 experience.

A place where locals eat. The Reuben and Avocado BLT sandwiches were delicious! Our Server was very kind and the service was great. We loved the casual atmosphere, as well.

Went for dinner on a Wednesday night. The worst service ever. No dinner order taken for 25 minutes. Had to go to kitchen directly to insist our order be turned in. Waited another 45 minutes. No waitstaff checked in with us. Went to kitchen area again to ask if our food was being cooked. At this point it was 8:15. Place was pretty much empty and closes at 8:30. Head person was rude and nasty. He said he was working on take-out orders and wouldn’t directly say whether our food was being prepared. All we ordered was a burger and a quesadilla. He then told me our order would be delayed if I kept talking to him. I grew up in the restaurant business. My father would have fired me if I ever spoke to a guest/customer like that. I’m not afraid to speak up, but I said nothing. I was STUNNED. No food after one hour. We walked out. I would NEVER recommend this restaurant.

Went for dinner last night. Was seated immediately. Not very crowded. Waited so long we walked up to kitchen to make someone take our order. Order was a burger and a quesadilla. No food came out after waiting 45 minutes. No waitstaff to check on us. Place was nearly empty by then. Went to check on order directly to the kitchen area. Was told I had to wait longer. All I wanted to know was if our food was actually being cooked at this point. Head of restaurant was extremely rude and nasty. He told me he had many take-out orders to do. I was stunned. He then replied that the more I try to talk to him the more delayed my order would be with a sneer on his face. I grew up in the restaurant business. I understand busy and overload. His behavior was abhorrent. We walked out after more waiting. I would never recommend this place.

I wish I had discovered this place sooner.
The food is incredible! I had the green chile cheesesteak sandwich and fries. Honestly it’s probably the best sandwich and fries I have ever had in Taos. Very affordable as well.

The food here was excellent! One person on the floor running her butt off, but did not feel like we waited too long for anything. Highly recommend.
