The food is usually over portioned and prepared correctly. The salad bar is very good. The problem is during lunch. There’s only two servers, and it takes quite a while to get your order taken and receive your food other than that all good.
We travel from Denver to Dallas every year and always stop to eat at K-Bob's in Raton both ways. It's so nice to get good food and have a choice other than fast food! We especially like the salad wagon as it has almost anything you can think of for a salad - plus soup. We are in our 70s and usually eat fairly lightly when traveling and will split an entrée but always get the salad wagon. When we were there last week, we wanted steak and split a ribeye. Lunch for five was fabulous. Each meal was different, and each delicious. Prices were reasonable, and our server was very helpful, despite a new menu. A reuben this good was not expected in tiny Raton! The fries were special...light, not greasy or dry. That is rare, so extra kudos for what is usually a toss-off side dish.
