Went for new Year's Eve. It was a really good time. Strong drinks, finger food and champagne.

Not great but what did you expect? It’s more fun across the street.

The kitchen was closed on the day we visited but the bartender was kind as could be and we enjoyed the hell out of our drinks. The patio is a great spot to enjoy the Red River main drag in this mountain town.

Matthew was friendly and welcoming, especially nice after a bad experience at a brewery down the road. Loved the fact that they have shuffleboard and pool tables as well.

Great beer selection, and good prices too. Not as busy as the motherlode, but it’s nice to have a quieter place to relax and have a few during the evening.

I’ve always loved this place, it’s simple and down home but today I witnessed them completely disrespect a disabled vet and his dog. The customers (the vet and his family) were so kind and talking to everyone. Their daughter was home on leave celebrating her 22nd birthday and son leaving to the marines in 3 weeks. Amazing kind people but the staff told the father (disabled vet) that his service dog could not be in the restaurant and were extremely rude about it. When the family took their drinks to go outside where I thought all dogs were permitted, the staff continued being rude and told the customers to leave. The family did absolutely nothing wrong so I’m confused but very disappointed that they would treat service members this way. I left and will not return, very disappointed how they treat service members including disabled members. Shame on you Bull of the woods. We were not the only ones that left, several tables got up and left due to the behavior of the staff.

Signage is very poor for ordering food. No waitstaff for tables. Stood in line for at least 20 minutes as person taking orders would take order and then leave for a bit. Come back, take one order, leave again. Had to order drinks (water) waiting in another line at the bar. Food finally came after about another 30 minutes. Food was ok. Overall vibe of the place is saloon. Note: after waiting a while and asking about food, we were given an Oder of chips and queso that someone never picked up.

We’ve tried nearly every restaurant in town, so we decided to give The Bull O' The Woods Saloon a try. In hindsight, the 4th of July probably wasn’t the best day to do it.

The setup is self-service — you order food at the counter, wait for your pager to go off, and pick it up from a takeout window. Drinks are ordered separately at the bar, which also had a long line.

After waiting nearly an hour, I checked on our food and was told that our ticket was still sitting in the printer — it hadn’t even been started. It took another 15 minutes before it was finally ready. Unfortunately, it wasn’t worth the wait. The chicken tenders and fries were overcooked, almost burnt, and the BBQ plate was underwhelming at best. And, we didn't get our Texas toast with either meal.

For almost $70 for lunch, drinks, and tips, I expected better. I understand it was a busy holiday, but they seemed unprepared and overwhelmed. Disappointing experience overall.
